hey all,
you've all helped a lot before, now I'm narrowing my search.

I've got about $15K to spend, preferrably less. I'm looking for a used boat that's good for wakeboarding, but doesn't have to be ideal (cost is still an issue)

I don't know a ton about upkeep/repar etc. so I'm pretty much looking at the major/well-known builders so I can easily find a dealer/repair shop if/when problems arise.

Basically, I want an open-bow, over 19 ft. (six-person) boat that has a decent enough wake to justify putting a tower on if it doesn't have one already. Money saved on the boat itself can be spent on ballast, tower, stereo, etc. if need be, so a cheaper boat that is upgradable would be cool.

I'm in TX if anyone knows of anything, but any suggestions on what to be looking for are much appreciated.

thanks much

Most closed bow boats are still rated for 6 people, so if an open bow is not absolutely necessary, than that may keep your costs down and save you some $$$ for a tower and some fat sacks.

If you are wanting an open bow, I saw a purple Sport Nautique for sell in Belton, TX last year for 17k and I think you can get some of the older Sport Nautiques for less than that. The only problem may be not having $$$ left over for a tower. Also, I have seen some open bow MC PS 190s, as well as some Malibu Euro F3 Sunsetters for less than that.

Check out www.boattraderonline.com and www.flipsell.com Both should have plenty of boats for sell.

BTW, what area of Texas are you from?

I would look at a mid 90's malibu echelon lx great boat and check out the wake when sacked.

Any thoughts?
