How many of you shoot with them? I am thinking about investing in the PW Plus 2 and some strobes for some night wake shots. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I've got a couple of them and they're great. With that being said, and the fact that you wont be shooting around a lot of other photographers, there are much more affordable options if price is a concern. I have a set of quantum radio slaves that I probably use more often than my PW's however they are on a dedicated channel where as the PW's have a number of channels to pick from. Also depends on the strobes you go with... my studio strobes are profotos with pocket wizards built in so when I'm shooting in the studio I'm always using the PW's. However, on location and for sporting events I tend to lean towards my sunpaks and quantums.

Not sure if that helped but if you have specific questions, let me know.

Two thumbs up for Pocketwizards. Sure you can buy cheaper radio slaves, but if you plan on looking at them as an investment that you'll be using for years to come, then I would buy them without thinking twice.

I've only read good things about them and hope to pick up a couple some day.

mine arrived today and from my experience using loaners and from testing a bit tonight they are spot on.
here is a shot taken with pocket wizards that i rented last fall. i know the ambient should have been a little higher but there wasnt much i could do about it by that time of the evening. anyway i was shooting from like 100 feet away and the slave was inside a water housing. didnt fail once.

*hijack* Loved the moto shots Josh, especially the surrealistic HDR ones. I also thought the personal statement in your bio was spot on... *end hijack*

loren, thanks heaps for your kind words.
robby, i used an sb-800 for this shot but at half power, iso 400 and f/2.8. if you look at the highlights on dustin's face it is a bit overexposed so even at 1/2 power we are looking at a bit too much.
basically the point is that an sb-600 should be just fine for a shot like this. but note that the 600 does not have a pc sync jack so you will have to spend another 15 or so on a pc to hotshoe adapter.

I guess that is a cord that connects the pocket wizard to the sb 600? (pc to hotshoe)
