Is the maliview dash standard on the 2010 Wakesetters or is it still just an option?

Looks like a dash in a fountain or baja with giant multicolor stripes down the side.

I guess that screen is all you get on centurion? No guages or anything else?

And i also thinks its ugly...a step backward for centurion.

Ahh I see the other one didn't look Malibu enough for them, they had to take it one step further. I think they missed the mark though with the way the buttons are set up on that.

Thats one way to look at it I was thinking now that looks more like an Enzo
The large gauges that the other guys are running are driven by
the same computer box that drives the the Pro-Vison and by the engine. So if
the signal fails you loose all gauges, so there is no redundancy of having
them.

THis is my 2007 dash

I guess you're right it does look identical. I retract my comment about the malibu look.

I don't know what Malibu, Centurion, and Supra are thinking. I hate the "NAV screen" only type dash. Just give me some guages and give me a seperate screen. Cars have guages AND a NAV screen for ages. BMW tried to put too much functionality in the NAV screen and everybody hated it. Why are all these boats going down the same road? I like the Supra v.i.s.i.o.n, Malibu, and Centurion concepts but give me some guages too please. I don't want to push a bunch of buttons just to see the oil pressure. 1 step forward, 3 steps back. I just don't get what they were thinking. just my 2 cents.

tre I see what you're saying and it's definitely not for everyone but I've had both and actually like the new technology. I am kind of a gadget guy though. So far with my first season with the malivue I've had zero issues. Time will tell if this technology can really withstand the elements and the test of time.

Yes, one interesting note is that people think analog gauges are a backup or fail-safe in case the nav screen display is not working.

In reality the same computer (ecu) controls both. Last weekend I was getting a strange error on my Malibu about "No ECU Data Received for 10 seconds" or something. Not only were the digital displays not working, but the analog gauges weren't working either.

Tre, check out the 2010 Tige's, they have the Touchscreen located on the right, in front of your throttle hand, and they have several guages on the dash in the traditional way.

my issue is not the technology failing. Mine is a simple issue of ergonomics. When I have "analog" guages, I can read voltage, oil pressure, spped, RPM, air temp, lake temp, engine temp, etc. all while looking at my wake plate and perfect pass settings. I want to see it all at the same time without pushing any bottons. All that info gets covered up depending which screen I am on. I want to goof with my gadget AND see the guages. That is why I want guages AND an LCD screen. That is what I have in my car. I don't loose my guages because I am looking at the NAV and I don't have to push a bunch of buttons to see my guages again.

tre my malivue does all the above you mention without pushing any buttons, and the best part it's all in one place and I don't have to look all over the place to find the info. It does have several different screens and one of them is all the vitals you speak of all up there at once. Other screens have differnt vitals that display at all times.

I guess you'd really just have to spend some time with one to get used to it.

Does anyone else find Kevin K's response (second response in thread)to the original post as hilarious as I do?

Kevin, YOU JUST OWNED YOURSELF!!!!

But I'm glad to now know that Supra's have Maliviews in them.

Don't get me wrong, I love all the new tech that is coming out on the boats, but there is something about a DD with lead bricks, ten foot pole and a real driver that I miss. Now anyone can get a sweet wake with a push of a button and have a 12 year old driving the boat.
If these boats start driving perfect double ups then I'm out. End of rant.

Kevin, your statement about the anolog gauges and the VISION system for Supra's running dependent on each other is inaccurate.

On the Supra VISION system, if the system fails, you still have your analog gauges as well as manual switches for your lights, ballast, stereo, etc.

But, this thread is about Malibu having their Maliview system standard or not. No, it isn't standard.

NAW you mean if the screen fails you will still have the guages. I think he's talking about the brain for the unit which contols both the guages and the screen. The screen doesn't have it's own computer.

The other thing that I noticed with the Maliview the last time I had my boat out is that it uses the depth finder to plot the surface of the bottom of the lake/river. This might be helpful to find shallow areas of your riding spot to avoid. I just thought it was cool!

the depth sounder will only do bottom contour up to 15ft I think, or maybe it is 12ft. It is one or the other.
