It cost 1199.99 for the body only. I was leaning between that and the 300s but im no pro and liked the 1080 video. I read some reviews on kenrockwell.com and that pretty much made my decision!!!! I'll let you know when I get some time on it....

I really like what the D7000 is on paper. It might replace my D700 and D90. Can't wait to see how it feels and what the higher ISO ranges look like. Plus I really miss my old 17-55 2.8. The 24-70 2.8 is a tank.

Got one. Love it so far. Controls are awesome, great compromise between the pro bodies and the D90. Feels like a mini D700. High ISO shots are looking fine. AF seems to be working very well. I got home from work today and took some shots of my son riding his bike after the sun went down.

Both taken with the kit 18-105 lens.

Wow those look good. ISO 1600 looks like ISO 200. I'd say the ISO 6400 is definitely usable. I'm hoping Santa brings me one.

Bestbuy got them in stock last Thursday, but they were all gone by Friday. I was on a waiting list at my local camera shop, Richmond Camera. They got 1 in yesterday and called me. It was a kit w/ the 18-105 VR, but I kinda like the lens as it seems sharp enough. I think B&H and Adorama will probably be next.

Some of the new settings are really cool. I love the U1 & U2 on the dials, they pretty much didn't leave anything out. The LV is very usable and the dedicated video button is awesome, I probably used the video mode on my D90 once when I bought it, I think it will be a different story on this camera.

User settings are the bomb! I'd have a tough time carrying around a camera without them. For example, when I went to S Dakota I had one user setting at ISO 3200 and f2.8 when I was shooting in dark bars in Deadwood, then another setting at ISO 100 f8 when I shooting in the bright daylight outside. Sounds like the d7000 will be a good camera. The high ISO shots look good. It is nice being able to crank up the ISO to 6400 and still get usable shots.

I got mine on the 14'th the day they showed up at BB. I am loving it so far :-)

Some of the first shot I took with it:

I wanted to play around with the 3D focus tracking, it worked pretty damn well. Of course I forgot to reset the ISO so this is still ISO 1000, which is fricken amazing, if you ask me!

And I timelapse I did while I had access to a wide angle lens:

Nice! I am very impressed with the auto focus so far. I know it is not supposed to be as good as the D700, D3, D3X, but I can't tell a difference.
