Wow, I'm stopping after the first trick to make a comment. If anyone has any doubts about whether Keith can still go big after his knee surgeries, I think this answers it. That's one of the biggest tricks I've ever seen. Just amazing!

we had lyman out to ride over the summer, i've been riding about 12 yrs now, and the 180 he booted to start his run was the single most impressive thing i've ever seen done off the wake.

Nice Brad Paisley! I guess it was country music month for Keith.

x2 on the blown out knee just watching that! I think I'd apply for air miles if I could get that kind of air! Just wow...

I love the first 180, not to mention the Pete that follows it that is about ten feet up and he only cuts at the wake from about ten feet out. Crazy.

Here is Part 2 and three, the front flips in part two are NUTS!

Everyone should take notes on Keiths PERFERCT Handle control.

I laughed at the fact that he had to prompt the driver to move weight because the boat was heavy on one side. Lyman is riding! Stop talking and pay attention! haha

Is this Nunn's Malibu that he is riding behind?

pretty sure that is Keith's Malibu
Old     (wakeborder5)      Join Date: Jun 2002       10-21-2009, 9:55 AM Reply
It was Nunn's boat, Lyman bought it after he was done with it.

I rode behind that boat a couple years ago, and it is a beast. I still can't believe he gets that high on w2w!

that board seems short on him, especially with him going so big.... which I rode his board for the first time the other day, and it pops!

very impressive

Its easy to see why he's got knee braces on both knees. Mine hurt just from watchin him stomp trick after trick with 10+ feet of air. That's some sick riding

good grief!

And that is why I skip everybody else's video section and watch Keith's first whenever I get a new wake video. He also does stale fronts and they are one of my favorite tricks.

Anyone know how he got his knees fixed (which ACL graft) when he did them? Just curious as I'm rehabbing mine right now.

Cadaver Allograft ... he came and did a demo for us right as I blew mine out.

So does he run ballast with wedge or does he run ballast and no wedge in that BU!?
Old     (johnsvt)      Join Date: Dec 2006       10-22-2009, 10:01 AM Reply
3500-3800lbs of ballast, I believe is the number in Keith's malibu. I heard he plays around with the wedge but I believe he prefers straight ballast if possible.
Old     (sippi)      Join Date: Dec 2007       10-22-2009, 12:41 PM Reply
try over 5,000 lbs. here's how its weighted exactly....

That sounds more like it. In the 5k range. My ridin buddy has an 07 23 LSV and he has upgraded the ballast to hold about 4000 in bags. Then you throw 4-6 people in it and your around 5K easy. Best wake i have ever hit, and the biggest. Before tournys, when we ride the week before, we have to ride with about half of it filled just to get used to a smaller wake. :-) LOL

Well there you have it, someone lied to me...where is Mo

Maybe not - here is a video showing Lyman adding some weight and stating that he has about 3500 lbs.

on stokemeter last night he said he used the wedge and im pretty sure 3500lbs
Old     (okcwakebrdr)      Join Date: Dec 2004       10-22-2009, 9:45 PM Reply
Well that boat could do more weight if he wanted. Re prop to a acme 1235 ( which im sure he has all ready). and that might be even better. I would love to invite some of you rippers to ride behind what i have the pleasure of riding behind. Its (how can i describe this wake) HUGE. We run 650 on each side of the engine. Stock 1250. 1100 # triangle in the bow filled to about 800. Plus about 5-6 peeps. And the wedge. It scares people!!!!!!!!!!

From the looks of it, Lyman is doing just fine with a measly 3500lbs of ballast.
Old     (dillls)      Join Date: Jul 2008       10-23-2009, 8:31 AM Reply
Wow! How does he get soooo much pop?? The height he gets just looks effortless.

Watching Keith and Murray ride makes me want to get out on the water. Anyone seen their doubles session on Pull? It was probably some of the coolest footage I have ever seen.

From the article it says he has about 1850lbs water weight. Does mean he has over 2000lbs of lead weight? Doesn't that seem odd? I mean that would be more work to unload every day than sacs. Also could be a real danger if problem happened on the water.

lead stays in the boat...never comes out

Hey everybody!
I'm Kartch, the one that filmed that video. I'm the guy that goes "DAAAAAAANG" when he first cuts. :-) We had the opportunity to ride with him on his boat and Shaun Murrays boat. A little more information...
- He runs close to 4000 lbs of ballast in the form of multiple fat sacs and lead weights. Lead weights do stay in boat for the most part.
- He runs with the wedge down in the video
- Shaun Murray was the driver.
- This was the first trick Keith did that day. He wasn't even warmed up yet!
- Keith wasn't going "all out" in the video
- He is riding behind his malibu
- He has so much weight we all had to shift to the
front of the boat to get the boat on plane!
- I rode behind his Malibu the day after and got the wind knocked out of me when I cased the huge wake. The wake is insane!
- There are more videos coming from that trip.
- Check out the videos of Shaun Murray from that trip. I don't know why he isn't right there in the running for big air rider as well.

Thanks,
Kartch
