Trunkin it here in Ga. It is actually pretty warm. I went out the beginning of April and used one. I ended up trunking it then too, but it was pretty uncomfortable until you were actually riding.

We trucked it on the Sac River on Wednesday, but that's not saying much because it was in the mid 90s. The water was mid to high 60s and felt great.

Totally off topic, but Nick you wouldn't happen to be related to a Joe Bommarito would you?

So to relate to the topic, been trunking it down here in Texas for a while now.

Been trunking for about a month without a heater top, before that about 3 weeks with trunks/heater top, and before that it was same with neo shorts.

Gotta love Texas.

Use the 100 degree rule: If air temp plus water temp is over 100 degrees, you should ride in trunks. If you still think that is too cold, move to MN for a couple years then give it a shot.
Old     (w00taz)      Join Date: Jun 2007       05-16-2008, 3:00 PM Reply
lol according to luke's rule it hits almost 200 here in the heat of summer! 50/50 or 60/40 (air/water) would be insane on the 100 scale.

One could trunk it here in Az for about a month or so now maybe 2 if you're super hardcore. I didn't ride the past 2 weeks @ all but before that I was in a spring suit. I imagine the suit wont be coming back out till october or so.

" Use the 100 degree rule: If air temp plus water temp is over 100 degrees, you should ride in trunks. "

that is quite possibly the dumbest thing I have read. So 50 degree water + 50 degree air = trunks ? um no.

I don't like getting in the water in trunks only until it just about hits 70.
