Looking to film a wedding for a friend. First time doing something like this so I was wondering if any particular Mini DV tape is the best choice to go with.

Stick to one brand. Especially if you pick sony. The lubricant they use on different brands don't mix well. Panasonic and sony lube mixed will get sticky and plug the video heads... I have six GL2's that get really heavy use and we have had severl problems related to this issue...We only use Sony now but it really doesn't matter what brad you pick.

I agree with Scott, stick to one brand. Panasonic Master brand tapes supposedly use a dry lube and a lot of the Pro's swear by them. Keep a cleaning tape handy sooner or later you get a head clog.
