Anyone have elbow injuries from riding? I've been fighting one for about a year and can't find any relief. Pretty much a bad case of tennis elbow.

I've injured my elbows before... time heals it, that's about it I find. Just have to try not to re-aggravate it.

I get tennis elbow from doing tantrums. I quit doing them for a few months and my elbow seems better. They do sell a brace for tennis elbow that helps a lot.

When I rode a lot I used to get pain in the elbow about ten minutes after finishing riding that would almost make my arm unusable. Tantrums are a killer on the elbow unless the handle is kept in. That is one of the keys to keeping your elbow pain free is not letting the handle out. Also riding switch more will help as you will be using your other arm 50% of the time. Always ice after riding (kinda hard in the winter.....BRRRRRRRR!) Anti-inflamatories work but becareful as they can mask the pain and let you think you are ok when you are not.

Maybe go and see a doctor???

Disclaimer: I am not a doctor and have no clue what I am talking about!

The only true relief I have found is acupuncture. I've been in a cast for three weeks, therapy, and even had three kortazone(sp)shots. The next step is getting it cut. Tantrums are definetly a killer!

I also have a problem with my elbow. It started 3 month ago and I haven't been riding since (Because of the cold winter). I have been to a physiotherapist (I don't know if it is called that) and done some work out. But remember to start of with low weight when work out the triceps muscle. The work out have helped alot. But again start of with low weight (very low). You should be able to lift the weight at least 30 times. If you can't then you are lifting to much. Good luck and happy new year

Would tennis elbow cause your arm to get numb at night? I think I have the same thing, nagging elbow injury that sometimes at night makes my hand numb, like it's falling asleep.

If some of your muscles are swollen, I could image that to happen. When my physiotherapist where massaging my muscles in my arm, I also got the numb feeling in my fingers.

I *hate* when my muscle swells and goes numb. It happens most the morning.
