new starter battery will this one work

2006 VLX Malibu with Monsoon Engine 340 hp.

I am due for a new starter battery mine is 6 years old. I called my local Malibu dealer and the he told be that I needed a deep cycle battery at least a 550 to 600 cca group 24M battery is all he said.

Well I ended up with a RV/Marine Battery Interstate SRM-27 600 CCA 750 MCA. Not sure what those numbers all mean, but will it work for a starter battery.

It is a group 27 NOT a 24 which i hope is just the size of the battery. The 600 CCA is still the same as recommended.

I picked up the battery for cheap from my families RV dealership and it was the closest to any of the numbers. They did have a size 24M, but it was only 500 CCA. So I went with this one.

You should be good to go with that battery for starting , My buddy ran interstates for years with no issues.

Yeah same battery the 27 is just a bit bigger with more capacity. You upgraded from what the dealer told you to get.
