One of my friends has a CTI custom that he will sell me for 150$. My question is I know that the customs are made to fit owner but is this just in the sizing of the brace or is the actual articulation of the hinge made to fit specific knees? The brace is actually a near to perfect fit and is better than what I have been using (off the shelf braces) They feel comfortable when wearing them bending and moving in them but always wondered this.

I'm pretty sure the customs are made specifically to the person because when i was fitted for mine, the lady outlined my knee on a special chart. If it fits you and doesn't bind or hurt, I'd say rock it and happy shreddin. It cant be any worse than a generic brace.

Did the measure the knee bent or pay attention to the way it bent or just mainly sizing?

if the shoe fits wear it. where the brace bends should line up with your knee cap basically and braceshouldbe snug against your leg otherwise it won't help . it also matters how high and low the brace is on your femer and tibia. if your friend its about your size though your good

She did the outline with my leg straight. She did take measurements with my knee both bent and straight. The biggest issue is if the medial cuff on your shin lines up and with that in the proper location, the hinge lines up with your knee. If those line up, you should be good to go.
