picked up a new masterline handle the other day (on top of a skate and landlock!). later when I got home, I noticed the tag says "15.5" carbon eva wakeskate handle." when i look on masterline's site, I can't tell the difference between this handle and the "wakeboard" version. anyone know if there's actually a difference? price is the same...

thanks,
Wes

no idea, but I heard we got the same skate. Catalyst from Hyperlite?

Oh, and now that I see your post, I know it wasn't you that we saw on the delta this morning. We were there at 7:30 and I swear someone has an identical TEAM as yours.... Weird!

There's a special material in the core of the handle that makes it easier to land shuvits and w2w tricks

ok I called Masterline directly just to make sure -- turns out the special dampening foam they use on the skate handle reduces vibrations from the boat and wind that ultimately keep your feet more steady on the skate. it also makes julienne fries.

so why wouldn't they put dampening foam on a wakeboard handle?

just for clarification, the correct term is damping, not dampening.
