I have a 2007 Moomba LSV and the trailer has guide pole covers with the Moomba logo in white. When pulling onto the trailer the white paint from the logo rubs off on the black rub rail and gives the appearance of a bad wax job. I've tried to scrub off with soap and water, mild paint thinner ect.. with no luck. Any suggestions from you guys. I have ordered some solid black pole covers to replace the factory logo covers to correct this in the future.
I got tired of the same and just this weekend replaced the covers with a nice durable (thick)carpet from home depot. At first I wasn't sure but not that they are on the boat it really makes it looks sharp and abvious that I baby my boat.
I just used Gorilla glue and attached the carpet to the pad, slide the pad back on the pcv pipe the slide it back on the trailor.
I do have to admit I got the idea from a fellow Wake World'er.
That sounds like a good idea Kenny. Think im gonna do it this week. I had the same problem on my rub rail. I used 1000 grit auto sandpaper really easy. took it right off and diddnt leave scratch marks.
I was using just a dab of Acetone to get it off but no more of that now .
Wife thought I was crazy as she watched me doing, then whe n I slide the finished product on the boat she was like "WOW" good job honey, I knew you what you were doing...
I wrapped it with plenty of Gorilla glue, then to get the tightes cleanest fit I joined the edges (no overlapping) by using about 15 zip ties on each pylon. I let it set over night.
