Has folks here installed this on their boats at all. We tried wakesurfing for the first time over the 4th and everyone had a blast. my worry is about riding too close to the platform. I had a headache after taking a few long runs and I'm definitely worried about intaking too much CO for me and my family.

Someone on the wakesurfing board suggested this, and I'm wondering if a lot of folks have put it on their boats. It sounds like it doesn't effect performance. I think I'd want to have it professionally installed though if I have to drill holes in the transom, which looks to be the case on a SAN...

There will be a performance hit. It usually is the top end speed of your boat. The hit is about 2-4 MPH from the top speed but the benefit of cleaner air are greater. IMO.

I just installed one on my boat a few weeks ago. my wife wanted the boat to be even quieter then it was so I offered to put this on... I had been eyeing them for wakesurfing already...

It seems to work great... was just wakesurfing a few hours ago... couldnt smell any exhaust... oh and the boat is even quieter!

I installed mine almost a year ago with year round usage. The only issue I have had is with spray coming up between the swim platform and the stern. As far as a loss of performance, I haven't noticed one. Then again I don't ever have the need to go above 26. Installation was pretty simple for me. Took about 2 hours and basic hand tools.

I have it and it is awesome. I would recommend it to anyone that does a lot of surfing.

As far as the spray coming up between the swim platform goes I solved that problem on my teak swimstep. I just put a piece of smoked plexiglass under the area where the spray was coming up. Solved the problem completely.

I am very happy with my FAE.

I bought mine a year ago and finally took time to install it last week. Immediatley noticed a few things.
1) Much quieter and no smell at rear of boat.
2) Reverse is a little more challenging.
3) Spray on platform sucks and either plexiglass or aluminum diamond plate under platofrm will be needed.
4) Sense of secuity or safer with kids behind boat definitly justifies cost.

Installation was easy in driveway with basic tools and the instructions are great with diagrams. About 1.5 hours total with my son helping me.

I can't say enough about Larry's customer service. I emialed photos of spray and complaint of excessive fuel consumption and reverse compromised. He called me within minutes to advise the problem. It appears the down tube is too long for my boat and needs to be angled backwards more. He immediatly shipped me new system with shorter down tube and angled mounts to raise system. I am sure once installed it will perform much better. Again I cant say enough about customer service.

Rick
