I just sold my 01' Byerly 142 and need to replace it. Until it's replaced I'm using my buddies Parks DNA 138.

My question is which size to get.
My Stats: 5'11" 175-185 pounds.
My Style: Straight Up, Front/Back Flips (Attempts) and other common WTW tricks.
I'm no pro, but I try like He11. When I was on the 01 Byerly 142 it seemed really big. The 138 DNA feels like a much better size but I think the shape of the Byerly is better for me IMO. Any help would be greatly appreciated. 142 or 137.

Tough choice since you said the 142 might have been too big but you like the 138 Parks. I always like to go bigger but you might be fine with the 137. Check this out.

I have the connection to get boards cheap... My pops owns a marina. I just don't know what to get. It seems like all the good guys are getting 137-138 boards. On the chart I'm boarderline, but I would like to hear some feedback from other riders using the Byerly 137 about the size/feel. Mango.. thanks for your post.

I wouldn't recommend the Byerly if you ever hit sliders, the tails tend to break easily but besides that it rocks on the wake. I have a Parks 138 and it is the best board I've rode so far. If you like the Byerly better I'd say get the 137 instead of the 142. Of coarse these are just my worthless opinions.

Mango, We are the owners of Mahopac Marine. Where are you from?
I'm working on getting a few boards for Demo. I have some boards on the way that will be on Sale if anyone is interested. Boots, boards, towers, racks... I get it all Cheap. I should have the 04' Byerly here on Thursday to test out. That will make my decision final. Temets are already on the way. mailto:bertmelchner@hotmail.com

I rode the 142 and it doesnt feel any bigger than my 138 parks. From what i heard the cut out things in the board make it feel smaller than it is, and iot is right. I saw the 05 graphics on the board at Irvine and they look awesome.

I would reccomend the 03 byerly 142. The new byerlys are not as good IMO. I ride an 01 byerly 137 and am 5'8" 165-170. I have ridden a lot of byerly shapes and have riden the 04 numerous times. It feels slow. the center spine too deep IMO. pushes too much water underneath it. I have also ridden the 03 142 and it is a great board. sooooo fun and stable off the dub with consistent pop and perfect mix between being loose and not tooo fast. It seems to be a trend in the wake industry to move to larger boards in the last year. I as well am going to move up to a larger board. I would really like to get an 03 byerly. with your size I suggest sticking to a larger board. Harder to spin big tricks but more pop and a stable ride. it would also be less fatigueing (sp) to ride for a larger rider. do not get a byelry w/ cutouts. stupid marketing gimmick that does nothing besides slow down the board and differentiates it against any other board on the market. if you want an 04 -05 model do not get a byerly. Im sorry if this makes anyone upset but it is just my opinion.
