To us, it is a fun diversion. We only ride our skate after we have been wakeboarding for a while and are a little or alot tired. Or when there is a good chop.

It is fun and takes less work to just tool around for a while.

I think that as an industry, it has limited real growth potential in comparison to wakerboarding.

I think wakeskating is here to stay. Growth may be limited compared to wakeboarding, but it still has tons of room for growth at this point and like someone else said you don't have to have a $30k + boat with a fat wake to ride one and have fun.
I know guys that ride only the wakeskate and if you told them it was less work than wakeboarding I think they'd disagree. Then again, it depends on how you ride it. These guys are hitting double ups on the skate...

I think wakeskating could grow to be as big as wakeboarding. Wakeguru touch on it, you dont have to have the 30K boat with a fat wake.(although my boat has a huge wake and only cost us $6800). You also can get a skate a lot less than a wakeboard that is costing $500+ to get a board and bindings. It is cheaper to get into wakeskating than wakeboarding.

how high is that guy? 4ft. to the bottom of the board? That is sweet!

We were all stoked when he stuck that and my wife had the camera and got this shot - uncropped. It looked even sweeter from the boat.

Wakeskating has the potential to be bigger than Wakeboarding. No need for an expensive boat, and there is a definite market for people purely from a skate background.

haha, pretty cool find.....yeah, there is still much room for innovation in wakeskating. It is amazing how it has progressed, in both board design and tricks.
