I am in the market for a new laptop mainly for digital photography I do not play any games so that is not a factor. I am considering MAC for the first time. I am a system admin for a company that is 100% Windows based so I know Windows but not MAC. I am looking for input from people that have used both. Are there any big advantages to switching to a MAC now that they both run Intel inside? What are some advantages to the MAC?

Thanks
Kevin

From what I understand MAC is more digital photo, video, etc oriented. Their Opperating system is a Unix based system and make it more stable from crashes etc. I use windows at home and work. I also have a 12" Powerbook that I love. The only reason that I use a PC at work is because there are some sofware packages that I use that are PC only. If MAC can get the Windows and OSX to run together perfectly I will switch to a MAC at the office. Idon't think you will regret getting a MAC I don't. Overall there are some maily interface differences with the way that a MAC "thinks". If you are an IT professional you should have no problems. My wife who cares nothing about computers other than internet and email loves my MAC becasue it is easy to use and she never gets the blue screen of death.

No viruses on a Mac and they have a click and drag system instead of a cut and paste system.

i have both(pc for work and mac for personal) and i love my mac...

OS X is very elegant and stable operating system..if you need 2 run pc programs you can add parallels emulator with your pc platfrom of choice and it is pretty fast...

once you go mac - you wont go back...

I'd like to add that the Mac OS is color managed at a system level. What that means is that your screeen images will look the same in your browser as they do in Photoshop or whatever editor you're using.
