I have a 5.7 Mercruiser engine with the plug/hose design on the bottom of the pan. The problem is that the plug is pissing oil. I assume this is happening where the hose fits onto the plug. My question is how the hell do I get the plug off the pan. I mean it obviously is threaded, but how do you get any sort of wrentch on it? I only have a few inches of clearance between the side of the pan and the upper part of the hull. Any suggestions?

Crows foot, extension, and a ratchet? How about just using a wrench?

If it is loose and has a metal washer you can probably tighten it. If they used a plastic washer put in a copper or at least an aluminum washer.
