A question for all of you with more camera experience then me. I am a chef and am thinking of starting an intense food driven website. The plan is to take a lot of close up pictures of plated foods, individual food items, shots of food at organic markets-farms, I think you are getting the idea.

What would the best lense be to partake in something like this. I have a Nikon 40D camera. Moeny is a concern, budget is up to $1000 for lens or len's.

From what I have read it would be something macro, not sure if that is right though. Any help/suggestions are greatly appreciated!!

Look at the Nikon Tilt-shift lenses.

Probably either the 45 or the 85 depending on how close you want to get.

Rich is pointing you in the right direction. Tilk shift lenses are used for just this sort of thing..but they are NOT easy to use right away. Check out the info here...http://www.lensrentals.com/rent/niko...pc-e/for-nikon. There is a video and some links....

You don't want to buy a lens like this...you rent it. I would suggest also renting (or borrowing) a D700 body. Finally...you need lighting. Professional level results require a lot of work....

Might be cheaper to buy stock images. I would go for the glass though
