Thanks for the link Bryan. The boat looks absolutely sick and I wonder what are all the upgrades from the standard RZ2. Obviously the tower is a definite as it appears to be metal flake and the two tone speakers are crazy. It would be interesting to know if they are going to offer that boat as they say it is a one of a kind but the literal definition of Edition means a series!

I keep seeing a Tige RZ4 on Lake Allatoona and by the looks of it, the crew (and their is a lot of them) is always having a lot of fun. Being an owner of a Malibu Response, I am not exactly the most popular since my boat is a minnow compared to that boat. I love to foot but for some reason my friends all want to wakeboard and surf. Can't do that very well in my boat. I am a sucker for limited production items and maybe is the reason I own a 70 Chevelle SS. You don't see very many of those out there anymore. I keep pondering on the idea to get rid of my boat and get into a bigger one. The RZ2 just seems massive for the size. I know I can surf and wakeboard behind that boat but wonder how fast you can get one up to. I am not exactly 140 lbs.

I had that same question, it looks pretty standard to me just awesome color scheme. What I do know is this is only 1/1 there is no other platnium edition and it was given to the CEO of tige for his work ...

Tigé Celebrates 20th Anniversary, Presents CEO With Platinum Edition RZ2

Abilene, TX — Commemorating the 20th anniversary of Tigé Boats, employees and suppliers today presented the company’s CEO Charlie Pigeon with a one–of–a–kind Platinum Edition Tigé.

The Tigé RZ2 was specially designed and built for Pigeon in appreciation for his 20 years of enterprising dedication to Tigé employees and dealers plus his more than three decades of progressive involvement and support of the inboard industry. Tigé employees donated the labor to build the commemorative boat and suppliers donated all of the parts. The unique RZ2 features a custom gel coat design, graphics, tower and other unique accessories. The special boat was presented to Pigeon during the quarterly Tigé Quality Standards luncheon at Tigé headquarters in Abilene. And the following Tigé employees were awarded Most Valuable Players of TeamTigé for the first quarter of 2010. Rosa Arispe de Cantu, David Gonzalez, Barbara LaFave, Jose Luis Martinez, Mario Montelongo, Val Ramirez, Ron Rifenburgh, and John Vasquez.

Pigeon started Tigé in 1990 in California. The company’s first model, the Tigé 2000slm, gained instant recognition among slalom enthusiasts, and was named WaterSki Magazine’s Rookie of the Year in 1991. The company grew rapidly and, in 1994, moved its manufacturing base to Abilene, Texas. In 2006, Tigé dramatically expanded its manufacturing capabilities when it opened its current state–of–the–art factory headquarters in Abilene.

Tigé’s 20–year history is filled with innovations and advancements that have helped lead the industry in expanding inboard design, multi-sport versatility and product quality. Among other breakthroughs, the company’s patented ConvexV hull and TAPS2 technology allowed Tigé to become the world’s first trimmable inboard. More recently, the company developed TigéTouch, the world’s first fully functional touch–screen control system to be used in an inboard watersport boat.

“I’m truly grateful to all of the people who through the years have helped make Tigé such an enduring success,” Pigeon said. “Our employees, dealers, suppliers and customers all share significantly in our continued success and I’m both proud and humbled to be associated with such an awesome group.”
Tigé Boats manufactures a line of high–end multi–sport inboard boats distributed through a worldwide network of Tigé dealerships. Additional information about Tigé and its model lineup is available at www.tige.com.

SO this boat isnt available to anyone else

Not a fan of that color combo, does it come in other color options other than the orange accents?

I probably wouldn't buy that boat if I could afford it as I like more classic schemes but it is pretty cool looking right now. The problem is it is probably going to be completely out of style and dated within 2 or 3 years. That being said if the owner likes it and is either going to keep it for a long time or doesn't care about resale who cares what it is worth in 3-5 years.

Brett - it was a gift to the CEO of tige for free for his work over the past 20 years, read my post and since its going to be the only one ever made (so you cant even buy it even if you DID want to) , even if the CEO wanted to sell it ( which im sure he wont ) the resale value would prob still be pretty nice.

You would think that the boat was going to Canada with all the heater vents in it. I counted 6 just in the pictures. The more I look at this boat, the sicker it gets. It would be hard for the CEO to play undercover boss in that boat.

We clocked 51 mph in Orlando this year, but that was with the wind. Honestly, Its going to run some where between 47 and 50 mph.
