I already posted this in the boat sale thread:
I currently have my Malibu for sale and was recently contacted by a company called One Stop Motors. Their sales representative explained that they have corporate-level relationships with many of the online sales outlets and have keyword rights on the web to maximize the viewership of my boat in order to get it sold. Basically, they touted that they design a website for my boat to sell and drive millions of potential viewers to my site. I was immediately skeptical but listened intently. What really tipped me off that this was fraudulent was the the sales rep vehemently told me that my selling price of $42,000 was too low and that they could get me upwards of $47,000 for my boat because the people that shop with them generally have below-average credit and need full financing courtesy of One Stop Motors. So they were esentially telling me "we take advantage of people with bad credit." I was not comfortable with that. Also, they didn't really care what options my boat came with, i.e., engine options, tower, ballast, etc. They were only interested in getting my credit card number for their service fee of $448! I won't lie, I was tempted at the thought of getting $5K more for my boat than I am currently asking but told them that I would think about it and get back with them, they reluctantly agreed. At which time I checked out the Better Business Bureau website and
www.rip-offreport.com and there were 74 complaints on these guys over the last 36 months. All of these complaints were from people who paid the money and never received any service from this company....beware!
