What I did was got a piece of aluminum rod at home depot and two stainless steel pipe clamps along with a little brass pipe. I bent the aluminim rod at 90 degrees, and mounted the little pipe at the top of the pylon using the two stainless steel pipe clamps.
then I zip tied a plastic tube to the other end of the aluminum rod so I could slip the rope through as an eyelet. This keeps the rope off the boards and from tangling. You should not need to cut a hole in the front of your bimini for the cable, only where the pylon goes through. Not worth putting a zipper on it.
