so i have 2 10" JBL gt1000 subs in my boat. i used them for a few weeks and one is blown already. the cone came unglued from the rubber all the way around. does this mean its blown? or is it deffective? the sub seems to just sound bad because it came unglued, can it be fixed? can i reglue it? the sub was brand new, i find it hard to believe it would just come apart like that, i wasn't running that much power to it

You can glue it with some heavy duty epoxy but that will void the warranty, usually this occurs after prolonged pounding of bass, not after a week though. I would take it back. If you do decideto glue it, there is a good chance it will comeundone again down the road.

well the sub is a few years old but had never been used, it sat in the box in my friends garage, so i don't think there is any warranty

Just glue it with one of those two part epoxy's that you get at the hardware store. I had two audiobahn 12's that had been beta pretty good with lots of power in my SUV, they both seperated from the cone, I glued them and they are good as new. Get that glue that comes in a syringe and it mixes as you squeeze it, it has works like a champ!
