how to dye speaker grills

i have seen some people with the JL marine speakers with colored grills. I was wondering if they used rit dye or had them custom painted.

RIT dye? No way! You can paint grills, i have done it using an air-brush sprayer that you can purchase at Home Depot for about $10. You mix your paint in the provided bottle, attach the aeresol sprayer and voila! Be prepared for a mess and some runs before you master it! Oh, some grills are availabe in different colors from the speaker manufacturer...

you can now buy plastic paint made by dupont sold at most pep boys..works great and sticks like glue
