I'm pretty sure those are essentially the same boat save for graphics. If wakeboarding was your primary activity you would be better off with the sport/air nautique IMO.

When a monster tower and weight is installed will it then produce a decent wake??

Honestly can't say from experience on that boat....only from what I've read/heard. I have ridden a late 90s sport/air and its wake is very nice.

You might want to ask over on planetnautique.com. There might be someone there that has boarded behind one.

HTH.

With about 1,200 lbs the wake is good if you like a steep wake (SANTE 210 - like).

I have a 92...similar with a slightly different hull design. Karl is correct...with 1000# it will be decent. That weight will take up a lot of floor space though. A tower will help you eliminate some of the clutter, so that's a great idea. If you ski also, this might be a good option.

If you can buy an open bow so you can easily throw a sack in the bow.

I know this is unrelated to your question, but I will never own another closed bow boat.

That boat is a comp boat and has one of the best slalom wakes out there! It will not be good for wakeboard at all, unless you are only interested surface tricks.

we used to ride behind a 1995 CC ski nautique closed bow and the wake with 1200# was awesome.

You loose all floor space though

1997+ is a tsc hull, CC's "premier slalom boat". Wake for boarding will be disappointing.

If you use enough wieght and distribute it properly, you should be able to get a fun wake with either one of those boats. It probably won't be great, but sufficient for recreational wakeboarding. If you are serious about wakeboarding I would get an older model Sport Nautique or Super Sport.
