What year Ski Nautique?

Can somebody help me out with Ski Nauti info?
What years hulls make good wakes, I know some are good and some are bad.
1984-89 SN2001 = Good
98+ SNOB = Bad
If anyone can flesh this out for me it would be great. Ta

SN 2001 came out in 1982. Thats what we have. Same hull all the way up to 1989. Think of it this way, more modern SN you get, better slalom wake you'll get=worse wakeboard wake you'll get. Remember, they were all supposed to be slalom boats.

If you're on a budget and want a good wakeboard wake, try going for the first Nautique Super Sport. That came out in the mid-low '90s I think.

Good for what, bad why?

All Ski Nautiques are good but they may be better for skiing some years and better for wakeboarding some years. Since you said "Ski" Nautique are you not considering Air/Sport Nautiques? In my opinion all Nautiques are good boats but the Nautiques with a sloped back also have a dropped nose which makes it hard to weight them down for boarding. Is that what you consider bad?

Yeah sorry, should have been more specific. I am talking out and out Wakeboard wake performance. I know the 2001 has a great wake when loaded up but I know when the TSC2 hull came out the wakeboard performance dropped significantly. I'm not sure what the years in between were like. I know 94+ sport nautiques are great but I specifically want to know about the ski hulls. Ta

Why do you need a ski? The whole purpose of the TSC2 hull is to create the smallest wake for tournament skiiers, which it is. If you're on a tight budget, I'd go with the 2001. That old slalom technology into the hull means great wakeboard wake. If you go newer, you may want to start considering V-Drive or Air Nautique.

I've heard bad things about the TSC hulls (for wakeboarding, obviously). The TSC2 hulls (newer) are supposed to be better. I honestly haven't heard anything about the wakes on the post-2001/pre-TSC (1990-1996) Ski Nautiques.

My boat was a 1995 Ski Nautique, pre TSC-2, the same as all 1990-1996 SNs. The ride plate was rated at 1100 lbs. I ran 300# under the bow, 500# behind the motorbox, and another 300# on the platform (sandbags inside duffel bags. With 5 or 6 people in the boat it threw a very nice clean midsize rampy wake. Unfortunately with that much weight in the boat it always tried to submarine front and back. I sold it before I sunk it. Still it was a great boat that provided lots of fun times, just needed to be very careful driving.

Post 2001 you should be looking at a 216, it has 400+ lbs factory and room for plenty more (straight transom). It's a nice crossover boat but don't look for "pro-level" wakes.

Look for a 95-98 SS. Great bang for the buck. It has the same hull as the current SAN 210s
