Andy, from my experience Vicente is much better. They only allow 100 boats in at a time. I know it seem like alot but most people are parked on shore. Plus you can buy a pass at the ski course to get some clean water(providing you don't get retards who blast through totally oblivious to any of the rules). The wind frequently picks up at perris but sometimes if you get there early enough you can beat it. It is a roll of the dice. The only problem with Vicente is that sometimes you have to wait in line to get in if you don't get there early enough. I haven't been lately but I am sure there are people who have and can tell you what the lines are looking like these days(if any). I would much rather spend a day at Vicente than Perris.
Good Luck!

If you're going on a weekend then the earlier the better. I think they are starting to let boats in about 5:45 these days so if you can get there by 6am you're better off. And I agree with Dennis that San V is generally much better than Perris. One reason is that they don't allow PWCs on San V.
