I'm curious on where everyone buys their oversized ballast bags. We would like to toss some of the biggest bags that fit with the Bertha Ballast on a couple of our boats, specifically the Launch SSV or Launch with the HUGE Playpen space in the front.

Dan, barefoot international has the custom bags that were used in the gravity games boat. They are a 19X19X42 that go in the rear compartments, and a 19X19X88 for the playpen. I have slightly bigger bags in the back of my SSV...you know when they are getting full when the doors start to open!

I carry these bags, so if you are interested, let me know..

Thanks

Is that a 1000 pound front sac with two 500 pound locker sac? Damn, what prop do you run & how does it plane out? Any wake pics?

Darren,

I run a thousand in the front locker, and two 550's in the back on either side of the motor. I usually go out with four people at a time. I'm running the stock prop, and stock carburated motor in my Moby. I've never had any problems getting on plane.

I don't have any problems either. I run a Cutter Stainless prop that is the optional prop from Skier's Choice...I will have some wake pics soon..

Darren- At the risk of getting flamed again for my stylish get-up , here's an SSV wake with about the set-up being discussed. 900# sack in the locker, 500# sacks on each side of the engine, about 300# of heavy stuff here and there, and 370# of peeps (driver + passenger). I'm 5'10" for a scale reference.

I got the sacks from Hippo, which obviously is not an option anymore.

Darren, my friends and i all run about 3500lbs in our boats, and they are pretty easy to drive. We have stock everything. i don't see how 1000 in the front and 1100 would be that bad. That is not that much weight

Also I got the hippo 3 bag system i was curious how hard it would be to put 2 extra bags in the bow? Just wondering if my boat already has the plumbing for it. The boat is in storage right now so i can't look. it'a 02 ssv

Marty,

Is that 19x19x88 for the ski locker or the playpen? Will that fit in a Mobius or just the SSV?
