Upgraded Wake for Four Winns I/O

I have a 2000 Four Winns 210 Horizon. The wake shape is pretty good, but the size needs to be bigger. Has anyone added either a tower or ballast system to a boat like this and had satisfying results. Any tips or information would be helpful. Thanks.

Put a sac in the ski locker and another in the rear. Depending on your engine you could add more. I had a 17' Sea Ray with a 3.0l and with about that much weight it wasn't bad. I had a homemade pylon on it as well. A guy named Bob on this site has a 21' I/O that has a great wake. Hopefully he'll post on how he's got it weighted. I can't remember how many sacs he has but he's got a tower and Perfect Pass and it's a great setup.

How much weight in the Sea Ray, and what kind of prop? I have a similar boat with the same powertrain.

Jason, there are many things you can do to make the wake better and the pull better.
You will need weight to make the wake better and with that you will want a lower pitch, preferably 4 or 5 blade prop to aid in holding speed. Perfect pass is very advisable option if you want to progress and not just ride. The tower is as much needed to get the boards out of the boat and make it possible to mount speakers to hear while driving as it is to helping your air time. You can even go as far as installing a full on ballast system instead of just wal-mart pumps and bags you have to deal with every time out. Being able to just flip a switch and fill then flip a switch and empty is going to make going out more fun. You can still use bags but with the sealed system. Dont forget the stereo system because that is all part of the fun.
Mike sunday i was behind an older ?2000 xstar with no weight except 3 guys and couldnt believe the shape difference and wake width difference. I wish the guy had loaded some weight up but it was cool without it. I tried a couple backrolls and a few raleys on the board and a few on the skate. I think the first one was the closest, almost got the board back under me. The rest of the crashes were brutal and im still feeling the pain, my muscles havent been this sore in a long time.

Stephen, I had a 350 up front and a 500 in back on the floor. I got a stainless steel 3 blade prop, I can't remember the pitch maybe 21?

Bob, keep trying the rolls. The falls are not that bad. I wish I could get the guts to try a Raley. I keep thinking about it but never seems to happen. I'm thinking we both need a road trip this summer. Maybe meet in the middle somewhere. Get you out behind the Nautique!

I have a 18' Four Winns I/O 190 hp

I have 650+lbs in the ski locker (custom LGR sac...maybe 750+... just haven't measured it yet), 350 in the bow (LGR) and may add 350 just in from of the engine later this year.

PP is 75% installed and I have a AirBoom (Roll cage or Monster next time)

I have a 22' i/o with a 5L.I run 800# in the back and 500# up front and around 4 peeps.The wake definatly does the job.I haven't found a need to change props as it still gets on plane quick and holds it's speed really well.Still waiting for my machinist to finish my tower

We used to have a SeaRay 210 and I would put a 350 in the bow and a 500 in the walk through with the prop at a little above 3/4. I'm 6'1".
