i know this probably sounds lame, but i was wondering what the platform that everyone has on their boats improve the wake in somehow, and if i should put on one mine as well, there is a "kind of" platform on the back of it, which is much smaller than these ones, and its not wood, well here is a pic of my boat called Miss Abigail.

Jonny, the steps you see on the back of the direct and v-drive boats are "swim steps". They do not effect the wake, rather they are a platform for people to use putting on wakeboards, skis and for getting in and out of the boat easier.

You may find putting a full one on your boat is difficult because of the I/O.
