Here are two boats that I am looking at. I need a large boat for my family + freeloaders. I have 3 kids 1 of which wakes along with my wife and I. Are either of these preferable by wakeworld as a beginner/agressive wakeboarder. Any imput is appreciated. If niether of these are any good, please let me know what is within the 25k-29k range. thanks! http://portland.craigslist.org/boa/156585199.html http://portland.craigslist.org/boa/156585199.html

In my opinion not even a comparison. The Air Nautique has the same hull as the Super Air/210, the quality of nautique is much better than moomba in my opinion. I have a 99 air and it still looks and runs like new 600+ hours and running.

Ding ding, AzWakeBrdr5450 hit it, I wouldn't hesitate to get the Air Nautique if I were in a financial position to afford both.

I would go with the Calabria. Unless you are going to put a tower on the Air. I like the way the towers look alot more than a pole.

I would talk them down a grand on the Nauty and buy a tower with that. The Nauty is going to be by far a better wake boat, but you will hate the pole. It cuts off the bow with the cable, and is in general, a pain in the ass.

IMO that Air is way overpriced. I might offer $25k w/ the genII tower installed, if its pristine. Lots of 98-99 Airs around under $25k.

I may be mistaken, but I don't believe the old direct drive Air Nautiques are on the same hull as the SAN

Jeff's right, the DD nautys used the SS/SAN hull until 94 or 95 then changed it. 98 Air would not have a SAN hull.

my mistake, I still think the nautique is the better boat, but the price is pretty high if you could get it for 25 or around there get it. The Calabria is pretty nice aswell.

I think the first three are over priced. The last one looks to be priced about right.

Find yourself a used Sanger V210. Its an incredible boat and since you can get a brand new one for the low to mid $30k range I am sure you will find one in your range.

Hey Ken, I met the guy that is selling the Moomba by chance last night on the Willamette. I jumped in and checked it out last night cause I saw your post earlier. It is actually super clean. I think he might be taking it out to show some other people tonight from what he was saying. Go check it out. Find a good dealer too. That can be very important in your boat ownership. I agree Sanger is a great boat, but the dealer is in Longview. Moomba dealer is Active Watersports and has a great reputation. The Nautique dealer is up near the Columbia and never heard to much of anything about them. THey are a pretty small dealership. Good luck in your search and we look forward to seeing you out on the water.

I was quoted $37,500 for a stripped down '06 Sanger V210. That doesn't include taxes, registration or the 10 hour drive to go get it. The Sanger costs a lot more than it once did. I paid just over $5K more for my '06 SAN 210 than I would have paid in total for a Sanger V210. It is a signature series though.

Wow! When I bought my boat, the local Sanger dealership had a radio ad saying you could get a V210 for $27K. That was three years ago. I would have thought they'd go up a little, but not $10K.

Bocephus, Wow you got a 06 SAN 210 for $42,500? That sounds like a smoking deal too.

Ken, I know it is a drive but it may be worth the money you could save on a nicer boat. There is a 1999 Ski supreme V210 medalist with tower here in fresno for $17,999 and i was looking in the paper and found someone selling a late 90's Sanger v210 for $19,000. and here is a link to a sanger in Lodi. http://stockton.craigslist.org/boa/149937869.html Unless you're set on a DD i would take any of these over what was already posted. On the Sanger they were only going to give me $20K for my trade, while I owed $21,900. I did get a smoking deal on the SAN though.

Are sangers really good wake boats? I have not heard of them. I'm leaning towards this Calabria Cal Air for $27,500. Any input? http://adcache.boattraderonline.com/6/2/0/83614920.htm

I have a question on that CalAir. Is says the designer is Martin Brendella. He first designed the Ski Brendella for ...?? forgetting which company right now. He now owns MB as in B52 (Martin Brendella). What is his association with Calabria?

What should I offer for the calabria or the Ski Supreme. I am looking to spend 29000 or less. At the same time, i don't want to get ripped off. Would 29k be too low for this one? http://seattle.craigslist.org/boa/156453224.html

Ken, you really need to go check out these boats in person, and don't be anxious to buy until you find exactly what you want, because you'll be living with this thing for many years to come. I definitely recommend checking out very closely Nautiques and MC's. I've owned both, and there is definitely a solid feeling to both of those boats. I bought my '02 Super Air as a leftover dealer demo in early '03. The dealership was going out of business, and I got it for $36.5k with 70 hours. So, if you keep your eyes open and be patient, something good will come along. Again, just check them out in person, go for rides, and just as importantly...make sure you are comfortable with the service dept at your local dealer.

On the supreme i wouldn't spend more than 28K and on the centurion i probably just wouldn't get. If you notice the centurion doesn't even have wrap around seating. It would be well worth your money to expand your search area. you will more than make up the cost of travel if you find a good deal on one of the boats.
