Sounds like a cool setup, very interesting cooling system. Where are the batteries, that's 600+ pounds of weight!

What is pumping the water through the cooling system? Is it thermostatically controlled? How are you handling the galvanic corrosion between the dissimilar metals? Is there a heat exchanger in the mix?
Aluminum + Copper + flowing water = corrosion

That's the primary reason why boats with aluminum heads have closed cooling systems.

Pics please...

I was wondering how those speakers performed. But for some reason I'm having a hard time taking your word for it.

If you were trying to help your friends at wetsounds....you didn't.

First put more power to those 12W6V2s, second I don't trust you, third post some pictures, fourth don't promote through newbies on a website, promote through demos. People will decide real quick if it's the loudest and cleanest tower setup around, and word will spread.

Maybe now you cant hear the other guys in the boat laughing at how small you go. Cool now you feel good about your stereo. I hate guys that try to show off with noise. Try riding better!!!!

Chris P,
Spend a few minutes reading through some of the posts on this forum. You will find lots of posting's on people's new stereo system/boat accessories whatever. IMO nothing wrong with sharing a radical stereo set up, I for one love boat audio and am always interested to see other people's set ups. The difference I think is in how their posts read. Most of the folks on here are stoked to SHARE their experiences with like minded people. The way your post is worded sounds more like a brag/plug then a fellow wakeboarder stoked about his new system. Just my 2c.

Looks nice and clean, I think the amps in the floor and the covers for the sub's is a neat concept.

With all of that custom work how come you didn't do something with the batteries and the drivers screen?

Just plain sick innovation. Funny how some people got to chime in negatively. I believed it myself. I tend to give people the benifit of the doubt... until they prove me wrong! Nice job Chris, not to mention a sweet boat also.

Ummm.........Where does the ballast go again? Not a hater post, great creative install! A little over the top for me, but then again it's not my boat. These are our babies and we dump so much money into them to make them unique and ours. He likes to hear "ear damaging" music and that's great. Props on the install. The usefulness has been taken out of the boat to an extent, but it all depends where all our interests lie. Personally, I find it more creative to find ways to install a huge system and still keep all the amenities of a boat that make it a wakeboard boat. Minimize storage loss, protect the components from the elements as well as from a wave that comes up over the bow, and keep all space used for ballast. Do that and then I will be salavating to have it. Again, not to discount this install because it really is SICK!!! Love the floor install look.

Are the amps on the floor somehow protected from a big roller going over the bow, or even from someone who would dare drip on it after a ride? A small amount of water can make some nice sparks.

I thought for sure this was the start of some lame post. Thanks for sharing your setup! 'ya herd me' sounds like a pretty accurate name.

So does the rope snag the tower speakers or what? I know sometimes I can cut pretty far out and it looks like the might run into a little snag. Props on the boat that thing is way over the top. I'd say its off the chain, and yes indeed, iherdya.

Good point on the rope. If I were to make one change on that setup, it would be to drop those speakers under the tower, it's just my opinion.

Your boat is truly amazing. It all looks clean too.

How are you keeping the amps under the floor dry?
What is the purpose of the hump in the middle of the sundeck?
Do you have any ballast?
again, Crazy boat and great install.

The subs in the ski lockers appear to be band-pass boxes. If so, where does the enclosure vent to?

That is not a hump, the rear locker doors are open creating the illusion of a hump. I had to look at them again to notice this.

Claiming a system without sharing pics was a stroke of genius! Bring out the doubters & haters and then WHAM! Sure looks like your pics validate everything you stated.
(the following is not an endorsement or advertisement)

I had an opportunity to meet Tim from Wet Sounds yesterday here in Dallas. He mentioned this post and how some started out thinking it was a joke thread. The way he tells it, you met his partner (?) at the LA Boat Show and ordered a set on the spot. He was telling me how stoked he was to get these to you as soon as his shipment came in and then this post blows up. Too funny.
Old    nettlesbe            03-24-2006, 9:25 AM Reply
WakeSpecialty - It looks like a stroke of genius, but that almost seems devious, when in fact it looks like he didn't plan it that way but really was just stoked.

If you check out the post below, you see he didn't know how to resize the pics.
Count me among the jaded "doubters" who are happy to have been wrong...

Old    bocephus            03-24-2006, 9:49 AM Reply
Not mocking or ridiculing, but am curious as to why someone would do such a thing. The craftsmanship and install looks really nice. I'm not stereo savy though, is it for advertising purposes? I know on the local lakes around here anything that can be heard to from the Ranger or Johnny Law's boat is to loud and they come over with lights a blazin and write you a ticket for and then start nosin' around looking for other stuff to site you for. I will admit it would be a really good boat for either the Parker Strip or Havasu.
Old     (loudontn)      Join Date: Feb 2005       03-24-2006, 10:02 AM Reply
Wow, impressive. Is it bad that I want to piss some fishermen off with that thing?
Old    mobiletinting1            03-24-2006, 11:43 AM Reply
We hit Parker or Havasu 2 times a month, so that's when we really get to enjoy what we've got. Anyone see me at either place, don't hesitate, come up and have a beer. Nacho, the rest of the batteries are in front of the drivers seat. Talltieguy, the amps are protected by a 1/4 in. 4x6 sheet of plexi, the whole setup is 100% water-proofed. Yes, the boxes are bandpass enclosures.

Chris,

Props to you for doing something creative on your own and not getting put off by some of the discouraging posts. It appears that you are more into hanging out on the boat than actually riding, no issues here, lots of my friends do the same. Personally I like a little more functionality and preservation of storage space, but that's my boat.

The only real criticism I have is your disregard for fellow boaters with your intention to piss off fishermen. I like to ride with tunes and hope to continue without fear of legal reprocussion. If too many of us take on an abusive attitude with our strong sound systems it is only a matter of time before legislation gets passed and sherriffs start carrying db meters so they can give tickets.

Hope you get every bit of enjoyment out of the boat that you desire, but please don't try to piss off too many fellow boaters.

Keep the peace...

Not very many fisherman on Parker, LOL, it's more of crazy, speed, party scene. I have personally seen two drunken xxxxxxx drive thier boats into the damn down there, it's crazy! I use to take my old jet boat down there every weekend. We usually put in at bullhead and rode all the way to the damn.

See what you can do with all the money you save buying a Sanger . Thanks for posting pics, I'm still curious to see the water cooling system on the amps in more detail. Pointing a tower speaker pod forward seems pointless to me, but if the object is for everyone on the lake to hear you then I guess it makes sense. I probably would have worded the first post as less of a sales pitch for Wetsounds and you would have gotten a better response.
