Ok guys..

quick question... I changed the impeller on my 03 SSV for the 1st time this weekend. Boat has about 120 hours on it. I must say the impeller looked great when I finally got it out, but I replaced it w/a new one in case I damaged the old one when I was pulling it out. My question is..When I put the new one in, i had to basically jam it in, I put a little oil on it to help slide in, but want to make sure the splines on the impeller will straighten themselves out when the boat is started??

Thanks.. Sean

When installing the impellar, you are supposed to watch how the old one came out. That way, when you put the new one in, you can turn it so all the splines are turning the same way the old ones were. The splines will always be bent and even if you did insert them in the wrong direction, they should move into the correct position after you start the boat. It may just be a little harder on the impellar that first start.

Keep the old one as a spare in the boat. You are putting a round thing into an egg half of it will be smashed which is what creates the suction.
