I talked to Chris K. Sr. today, we sent him a video kit to record runs in HD and also do ship to shore. Sounds like he is getting it all setup good, and so hopefully we will all get to see some great surfing.

I checked in to see if all was going well, any problems with the video equipment and such. I have been available for tech support. They said all is going great, but they went over in time, so pros run tomorrow. Should be getting the video sent back to us by wed or so and we will start working on getting the runs up. I have to admit I am routing for Chris Wolter, but hope everybody has great runs.

Just checked out some of the video. Conditions looked great. No chop, good wakes. Love it when I see events where the weather and stuff complies. Looks like some great runs. RJ will be cranking on them today.

Hey Ragboy, the video ship to shore equipment you provided worked PERFECTLY!!!
AND i know that stuff IS NOT CHEAP! wow!
I have never met you in person but love all your wake9 video stuff.
I LOVE how you are all about the sport and dont let the yackers get in the way not to mention you are a Tige lover like myself (i live in Abilene..Tige's HOME Town!!!!)... and I just up graded over the winter to a 2010 RZ2 myself (PS i really need to talk to you of how you weight your goofy side, im goofy...)
Big Chris, or... i think we changed his name to "Papa Chris" at this event. LOL asked me to judge it, and this was THE best SURF event i have ever attended! hands down!
I could go on!!! and on!!!
Best contest ever!
More posts to continue....

No its not cheap. We originally had a system we got from Jac Fought, it was great but had some limitations we wanted to work through. We definitely stood on his shoulders and very thankful. But the equipment you saw is all completely brand new and includes the cameras and mounting equipment that we have tested. Our plan is to have 2 of those kits that we can loan out to grass roots events, and help promote the events on wake9. We really want to see these grass roots events take off. We are also working on a system to help train the judges using our videos, providing scoring sheets and lots of great stuff. I am also training RJ to do the broadcast part of it. The idea would be, you can just get the video kit to do ship to shore like this event did, or you can pay to fly out RJ and maybe one other person and put them up and feed them. They will handle the broadcast part. (Wait til you see the setup for the broadcast stuff, its pretty cool.)

All of this will be free of charge, you just pay the expenses and are responsible for the safe return of the equipment. Wake9 wants to help broadcast as many wakesurf events as possible. You just need to have a location that has a strong ATT 3G signal, we take care of the rest.

Its been a MAJOR pet project of ours, and has taken a lot of time, money, and effort to get it all working but the West Coast Open was the time where we got it all dialed in. Can't wait til the NWOpen, doing the entire thing there also.

So if you have an idea for a grass roots wakesurf event, contact me or Dennis and we will be glad to help. I really think that wakesurfing can be the premiere behind the boat (inboard) sport out there.

You are going to have to get out to the open in 2012 so that we can meet up. Contact me anytime here:

http://wake9.com/community/sendmessa...mailmember&u=1

to chat about the RZ2.

Just looked at the picture of the RZ2 you have in your profile. Looks identical to the one we reviewed first. Was it a demo boat? That was a nice boat. Had the bigger engine, the 409 if I remember.

Yes, i bought Tige's 2010 demo boat with the 409hp, pro 2k lb ballast. LOVE IT! Do you already have a tread on here somewhere of how you weight your Tige?

Well. we keep adjusting... ;-)

You get the custom sacs we R&D'd and you can buy now from Mikes Liquid Audio. You swap them in for your stock 350 sacs. Then we also put one of these cheesy spring loaded check valves in the vent line:

A good flap type check valve doesn't work, this is a 1/2 lb pressure check valve that requires some pressure to open. So this allows the bag to fill all the way up, and then stay full. If you don't do this, it will leak out. You can see how full in pic, and this valve keeps it that way. Maybe if it is real rough on your lake, a 2 lb check valve would be better.

Then we fill surf side front and add people, thats it. If you want an even longer wake, fill both sides front (800lbs), but not recommended unless lake is calm. We only do that on weekdays that are flat, and not often.

Ragboy: easy way to get rid of the check valve on the vent line - vent to the opposite side of the boat. I do on the Avy an it works great

Agree, I just didn't want to go through with that. Agree, that would also be a good solution.
