From what I have been able to find on the web, Farm and Fleet is closing it's doors. They do not have an online service to order stuff, so you have to actually go to the store. Krug, is that acurate? Do you live near one of them? Either way, Ty, how long for delivery on yours.

Thanks, they just came in last night. Since you guys have used them and are using them, here is the next phase of questions. I currently have 2 30 amp switches for fill and drain (1 each) that are turning on 2 Rule 200 gph (fill) and 1 Rule 1100 and 1 Jabsco Macerator (drain). The amps on the Simers says 12 amps, so can I wire them both to each switch for reverse operations? All I would have to do is reverse the connections to each switch right?

Chris, do you mean one switch for fill and one for drain? I don't think that will work. Well, it will work, but if you ever turned on both switches at the same time, it will cause a short. This would blow your fuse (or catch fire if there are no fuses). The simplest way is to use a three way on-off-on type switch. What day did you order your pumps? I also ordered some from them last week, I have not received them yet. I just checked my credit card online statement, they haven't charged me either. Hmmmm, maybe I should call and make sure the order was processed.

Be careful, you'll have a surge of 26 amps per pump when you first start up. I popped my 15 amp fuses when I fired up both pumps at the same time. I replaced the 15 amp fuses whith 20s, and I start the pumps about five seconds apart now so there isn't as big of a draw all at once.

I used 20 amp fuses with my Simer and still had them blow sometimes. In the end I used 10 awg and 25 Amp fuses. P.S. The Simer came witha 30 Amp inline fuse.

Matt, not exactly sure which day I ordered them. I think it was either Wednesday or Thursday, and I go them last night. About 5 work days like Ty said. From the sounds of, I will go ahead and order two DPDT switches for the pumps and put each pump on a seperate switch. My wire is pretty big right now (8 or 10 gauge), so I should be fine there. What about installing relay close to the pumps? Would that allow me to stick with the switches I have? Probably won't go that way, but just curious.

I'm sure you could make it work with relays. I thought about doing that with mine, but I didn't want to mess with designing and building the circuit. There were some discussions on here a few weeks ago with various circuit designs. I decided to keep it simple and use a seperate three way switch for each pump. I am currently running one simer pump and one switch. It works fine, but I ordered two more last week to increase the capacity.

I decided to avoid relays to keep it simple One comment, the 10 awg wires were a bit of a bear to handle wiring to the back side of the switch.

James is right on that...use my advice and use the large wireproof wire nuts. They work absolutely awesome and so much easier. I have pics of them if you need.

I hope this pic helps. The nuts are super easy to use and are filled with what looks something like the white lithium grease to make fully waterproof. You can also fit 3-4 10 guage wires in one of the brown ones.

What do you use to actually connect them to the switch? I certainly understand about using the wire nuts. Just want to know how you connect that large of a wire to the actualy poles on the switch.

The switch is a male type slide on connector so you will need the yellow color female slide on connectors. Get the clearish yellow color ones also, not the bright yellow. The bright yellow do not fit a true 10 guage inside it.

I used crimp terminal lugs. The black and red wire bundle leading the the yellow crimps is for the Simer

This pics shows it a bit better. Notice how the 10 awg wire is about as thick as the screw head diameter on the switch.

thats why relays tend to be better, you can use a small wire driving minumum current over a long distance (to the back of the boat)to control a large load (make sure the relays are sealed or seal them yourself to keep out moisture and the occasional gas fume

Bob, Can you provide me more info about this? I am not familiar with using relays. What would I need to run two Simer pumps for fill and drain?
