This is a customer's boat that we got in from MB yesterday. The buyers came up from Atlanta dropped off their trade ('05 Malibu VLX) and picked this bad boy up. Got some riding in with them before they took her back down to Georgia. Wake was with factory ballast, BTW, not a team edition, so the two 1000# tanks were filled with 2 people in the boat. Pictures do not do any justice.

The wake looks great, as well.

NAW,

I love your boat. Perfect color scheme IMO. Where do you ride out of?

I am the East Coast MB dealer, but the guys who bought it are from Atlanta, I wish I could post on here what they thought about the wake compared to preious boats that they had owned but I don't want to start a war. All I can say is that pictures do not come close to capturing the look of this boat, nor the shape/size of the factory wake.

Thanks JHG. I'm just southeast of Chicago in the northwest corner of Indiana.

Yeah, the wake looks like a completely different boat from the '03 and '04 B-52's I've ridden. Got rid of the spray pockets/reverse chines and voila...a nice wake.

That is correct, the pre-05 MB's wakes are ok, but don't come close to the new wake. A lot of people don't realize that the V23 is a brand new boat, the first of them came out last year, so very few people have ridden behind them. They do look very similar to the 22 footers from years past though, I think that is what is confusing to the general public.

i hear MB has some crazy things in the works for 07!

Alan,

I'm assuming that's you in the photos based on the Transcend. Nice pop. The boat and wake are both sweet! How does it differ from a Team Edition?

Absolutely nutz, only a few more weeks, and it can be public info.

Entrust, I could be wrong but I think there is a pic of an 07 MB floating around here with a snub nose, much like the new Epic!!
Old     (greatdane)      Join Date: Feb 2001       04-27-2006, 10:42 AM Reply
That is a good looking wake. How much ballast are you running there?
Old     (ripr)      Join Date: Mar 2002       04-27-2006, 10:45 AM Reply
I think the snub nose is just a customization done to stay within the length restriction of a private lake.
Old     (entrustclothing)      Join Date: Jul 2005       04-27-2006, 10:46 AM Reply
yeah the snub nose was custom

"why would you trade in a bu for that ecspecially an 05' what a shame"

Why would anyone care what some else does with their money?

I think it's nice if that's what they want.

A snub nose for that reason is pretty creative!!

yeah way to stick it to them :-)

i was kidding about the malibu comment, that boat is sweet, the colors not for me but that wake looks great, what the heck is a snub nose
Old     (entrustclothing)      Join Date: Jul 2005       04-27-2006, 11:20 AM Reply
some guy literally cut the nose off his B52. so it's just a flat nose
Old     (guido)      Join Date: Jul 2002       04-27-2006, 11:27 AM Reply
Some guy, eh? It's the Valdez family boat. Pretty nicely done too. The 23' boat is sick. I love the wake with only factory ballast. Takes a while to fill the 2000k + of ballast, but it's worth it. We rode it last year and got booted. MB definitely is underrated around these parts nowdays.

I guess it's true: Pink is the new black. Ha, ha.... I bringing Teal and Purple back.
Old     (alans)      Join Date: Aug 2005       04-27-2006, 11:39 AM Reply
Hint, the v23 is not changing, only everything else

JHG, nope, not me in the photo's its the kid who's dad bought the boat. The difference between this boat and the Team is....this boat does not have the bow ballast or stereo upgrade.
Old     (entrustclothing)      Join Date: Jul 2005       04-27-2006, 11:42 AM Reply
actually pink was the new black 2 years ago, then last year brown was the new black, this year black is the new black, seriously!

Thats really nice, but Pink? The wife must be wearing the pants in that family.
Old     (entrustclothing)      Join Date: Jul 2005       04-27-2006, 12:07 PM Reply
man i really get tired of guys saying pink is gay and it's girly. i happend to love pink and i know im not gay and i would proudly rock a pink boat. it's just a color, it doesn't mean his wife is the boss and she made him get it.
Old     (psudy)      Join Date: Dec 2003       04-27-2006, 12:11 PM Reply
To each his own. I never said it was gay. You just don't see to many guys(straight guys)sporting pink. Its still a nice boat though. That wake is really nice.
Old    mendo247            04-27-2006, 12:47 PM Reply
definetly "gay", who would want a pink boat that attracts women anyways!!! i love it, more power to you guys rockin the pink boats! personally i like the pink on black colors, back in the day when it was pink on teal and purple yeah that got alittle played out but black and gray will always be in so i dont see them going out of style..

That boat looks huge! I am not a huge fan of that graphic scheme, but it's a nice looking boat overall.

Didn't they sink their boat?

Those mb's are the best wakeboard boat around imho. That 2 speed is sick. If they threw a diesel in with their 2 speed I can't even imagine how awesome a combo that would be. My only complaint with the b52's is the spray on those is like 5 feet tall. So you best not be pullen out your slalom ski for any reason.

Evan, it was a lame attempt at humor. Largest wake you can surf behind.........the Exxon Valdez....

I don't think it will start a war, I'd really like to know what these guys think of it compared to other boats.

I should not have said that, I am not a fan of saying anything bad about any other boats, there are definitly lots of really nice boats out there. I have lots of friends with VLX's, X-Star's, and SANTE's(I've had 2.) MB's are just very unique, a truly custom style boat.

1. The boat is super solid like a Nautique, if you have ridden in a Nautique or an MB you know what I am talking about.

2. The styling and interior is a little more "Malibu'esq", meaning the seating is lower to the floor with high sloped seatbacks, oh and the fully carpeted interior like 'Bu. I am not a fan of the fiberglass interiors with snapout carpet, IMHO it takes away the whole ski boat feeling. Also you get the whole, in gel coat grafics with 40 colors and 3 patterns to choose from, no stickers here, so every boat is unique.

3. The Factory ballast is crazy, and all 90% of people will ever need or want. The wake shape is great for me, nice transition with a firm, but not too steep, "lip." And I can honestly say, it makes me a better rider. The SANTE wake is sweet, lots of pop, but the landing zone is pretty darn small, so you really need to be on point to have a solid set. I personally have a really hard time riding behind X-Stars, and as you could have guessed I just throw everything too early, from being used to the SANTE Wall.

4. This is the most last and most important point. I love selling MB's and I like the kind of people that buy them. We have sold over 14 23 footers this season and every single person has been blown away by their boats. I have customer's calling me and just going crazy about how much they love the quality, performance, and attention they get on the lake with their boats. We have to thank Mike Brendell too, of the 14 boats I have received this year...1 problem...a faulty temp guage. As far as I know, that kind of quality control is unheard of in the boating industry. I think MB is pulling out all of the stops, because the boats are getting totally off the hook, and just wait till you see the '07 stuff.

So if you are in the market for a big V-Drive, don't count out MB until you see one for yourself. Rant over.

Alan, can you order a MB w/o all the tribal and flames stuff?
Old     (alans)      Join Date: Aug 2005       04-28-2006, 9:02 AM Reply
Absolutely...there are 3 different graf. packages for the MB's. Tribal(flames), Puzzle(pink boat), and Classic. The color configurator is pretty cool on www.mbsports.net . On the website there are like 12 colors but you really have a choice of 40 different colors, www.valsparcomposites.com . As far as pricing goes, you have to talk to your local dealer, or if you are near the east coast, call me. They are priced in line with the "big 3's" 21 footers (VLX, SANTE, X2) around here. BTW, here is a pic of the "classic." Same boat as the pink B-52 above. just different gelcoat and vinyl.
