What is NWWF?

I have two rooms currently. 1) One Bed and 2) Two Beds. Don't know how many people are coming to stay with me or if I am even going. If they are booked, I can switch the one bed over to you.

Thanks for the offer, but I was able to get a room. Hope to see you there.

I just did some simple math and 9 boats and 35 people averages out to ~3.88 people per boat!!!!

Thats sick and the boat line up is insane!

I will have my best boat whore outfit on with plenty of cash!!

I am also going to bring a couple of different O'Brien boards for people to try out if they want. I hope to have:

Natural
Cartel/Skyla
Valhalla
Demented
Vision

were dragging nick along with us too. sorry to mess up the ratio. now its 4 per boat. I had to pinch myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming when I read the line up of boats that will be over there.

Cliff - What about Dave and Nadia. Any word?

Brad - What about a Ronix Demo from you know who?

Hahn - Bring your camera gear too. Doesn't sound like Christie is coming this year, so the spot for the official NWWF Photographer is open for your taking. HAHAAHAHAHA!

Guess I am going 2 B SOLO(not Hahn) for the NWWF. My wife forgot that she and my son are doing a charity walk for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation that weekend.

Who is showing up on Friday, and about what time?

PS: If anyone who wants to make a donation to the JDRF on behalf of my son follow this link:

I would like to propose a little contest for all of the guys at Pateros this year.

I will call it...The ugliest wakeboard shorts in the world...contest.

The rules are simple. Anyone who wants to join will pay a $5 entry fee on Saturday morning. At some point Saturday evening we will assemble a panel of our wives, girlfriends and female friends to vote on who has the UGLIEST WAKEBOARD SHORTS IN THE WORLD!!! Sort of an unfashionable fashion show. Winner (as chosen by the ladies) will take home the pay in amount. The more entrants there are, the better the pay out.

Any takers????

Since I appear to be the FNG(F__king New Guy) and the only one representing the EastSide!! I would be happy to be the tester when it comes to which boat has the biggest wake!!! My money is Cliff having the biggest wake. I ride behind a 2000 SuperAir and when we weight it down and throw in some people the wake is pretty large, then again I have ridden behind a few VLX's and those wakes are also pretty sweet. It's going to be tough but I am up for the challenge, I don't know if my knees are though!!

I plan on getting there no later than 2:00pm on Friday. I hope you guys that are going to be there on Thursday aren't too tired to take a afternoon set on Friday?!?!

Thank you Gary. I am taking Dylan out of school that Friday, so we should be arriving around the same time.

And Dylan is asking to drive (since I get back late on Thursday night from NYC), so watch out everyone for the red Ford Focus roaring over the pass. She drives fast...faster than me. Scary I know, hence I will be sleeping in the car and praying I get there in one piece.

I am with Hahn for pure volume, but I will put my money on the Super Air for the Firmest, Steepest, and most intimidating wake when fully weighted.
Headcount Wrench: I have 2 committed, and 3-5 more trying to get out for at least Saturday. (oh that is going to make a tough wake to beat)

Id like to see a malibu with the swim step a good 6" under water before I make my decision. I don't really want to see cliffs 6" under water unless I have an extra pair of shorts and an extra pair of knees.

Old     (jjakober)      Join Date: Apr 2002       09-05-2006, 4:58 PM Reply
Yep, there is something about the Nautique wake. Like Troy said, firm and steep. I also think that it has more of a kick at the top then other wakes.

The Malibu wake can be just as big, it just doesn't have the kick at the top.

The thing about the Nauti kick is that if you aren't ready for it, you will most likely bust your butt!! The Bu wake seems more forgiving.

The way I see it, as long as the wake is big, it's all good.

The Nauti wake can be mellowed out by adding 500 pounds in the nose. I understand Cliff has added that weight. But I have been bucked off of many SAN wakes. Not fun if you're not expecting it.
Old     (jaegermaster)      Join Date: Sep 2002       09-05-2006, 6:59 PM Reply
Screw the "Size" of the wake. I vote Jeff for having the most lead. I heard he is thinking about getting a tattoo that reads.."He who dies with the most lead, wins"

You know, I would love to come down, even if it's for a day of riding.

I was hoping to whore a couple of sets from Gary. And I concur... Gary does have a sick wake! It's only because I'm famaliar with it, since we ride it at INT.

What's new with you?

Gary, can we whore a couple of set's? Have gas money, corona, and will travel!

It's like two slant eyed magpies on a fence around here sometimes.

One thing is for certain, Jeff and I will be riding this weekend, Steve and Joe will not. The only question for us will be whether it's on this side of the pass or in Pateros.

For those of us that have relevant input on this post, it's looking better.

I have relevant input.... Try getting inverted or try something new this weekend. Sick of seeing my crew up there not advancing their skill level. I don't want to see the same Pateros video from last year. The guys I ride with here, when I ride, make me try something new every time we go out.

Hillard boasted he'd be limping home.... That's stepping it up.

In fact let's get a commitment online of what you will be trying this weekend. Your attempt must be witnessed. Come Monday, we see who stepped it up a notch.

Steve,

Interesting that your comments above seem to contradict things in your profile, your Personal Quote and your Favorite Rider.

Seems to me that "YOUR" crew rides for the love of the sport, so why are you busting on them?

Weather permitting, I hope to go big, have fun, and meet some new people, if something new or a trick I have lost happens to come out of it, then that is just icing on the cake!!

Peace,
jjakober

damn, sounds like people are getting fired up in here. just like old times. haha. To each their own. For me, I have more fun learning new tricks. Progression is what keeps me riding season after season. I am willing to take a little pain to gain tricks. Don't come down too hard on steve, he is just trying to push these guys into what they are perfectly capable of doing. I imagine you will see new tricks from everyone over there. Its hard not to try new stuff with so much good energy over there. 3 more days.

Ok Ok...

I hereby commit to attempting a back roll at least five times this weekend and at least five heel side threes. Hillard can verify my attempts. If nothing else it will break up the monotony on film. I actually landed a three yesterday but I was over rotated came back and BLAM! back edge caught and it was all over in an instant.

J,

I'm just busting Cliff's balls a bit. He deserves it as much as he dishes out. I would do anything to come to Pateros this weekend and eat crap trying something new, have fun and drink some beers. But unfortunately the Magazine has me in Grand Rapids Michigan for another photoshoot for the Jan/Feb Issue. As for my quote and favorite rider. I have much love for my Seattle Crew and anyone that rides for the love of this sport. I would like to see them push a little harder and try some new stuff.

Cliff, keep your handle at your hips and look for the shoreline! You'll stick it this weekend!

I commit to not drinking too much on friday night and being "That Guy" As for tricks...you will see hs front attempt (already tried 2), and I will grab my stupid backroll. Nick is about getting the tantrum back and learning a new invert. You know he's always good for a crash or two.

Now, see, that's what I'm talking about! Where's everyone else?

OK, here's what the Hahnster is going to do. Best crash on video trying something new:

1st place: Brand new pair of 06 Lyman Bindings!
2nd Place: a pair of 06 DSO sunglasses
3rd Place: a complimentary subscription to WBM
