I have a Monster Tower and I just bought a new Sky Ski. The rack that Sky Ski sells is $680. I am looking for something cheaper that will fit a Monster Tower. Any suggestions? Thanks

Bryan,
Samson Sports also makes one but I'm not sure what the $$ is. IMO it's pricey but you'll have a hard time finding one thats as nice and functional as skyski's. It's worth the extra $$ to get the pivoting rack. It reduces the risk of damaging things (ie losing your balance or slipping outta your wet hands) when your trying to hoist your foil onto a fixed rack.

I got one from Airboom. I like it. Not too expensive.

I just ordered the Air Boom "swivel" rack. $435. They say it will fit my Monster Tower. Comes in two pieces, one for the board and one for the foil. We'll see how it works.

Bryan, I didn't see the swivel rack on Airbooms website. I have a non-swivel one that I bought from them. It easily removes with the pull of a pin. I used it all last year and this year with no issues. Good luck and let us know how it works out for you.

Our friends just got the Samson one and they love it. I've seen it work in person and it feels extremely strong and solid, even when it swivels--I would definately trust it holding the foil. However, he says your wallet will be hurt just as much as any other rack, like the Comptech one. I think it was around $600, but please dont quote me on that... I can ask him to take some pics if you want...

Cole,

I bought the "360 Rack" from Air Boom. You dont really see a picture of it on there website. They said it would be the only rack they have that fits the Monster Tower. It will be here on Tuesday. The pin release was $375, so I figured for an extra $60 I could get the swivel. I will let you know how it works. I will be taking out for the weekend as soon as I put it on. Talk with you after next weekend.

If you can or want to spend the money the Samson Sports rack is the most solid rack I have ever used. The beauty of the Samson rack is that the mounts swivel to accomodate any angle of rack. Also the machining is top notch. The clamps I got for my Mastercraft fit perfectly. I have had other racks but I am very happy with my Samson. I also have 4 of their tower speakers with the quick disconnects and their large mirror too. I drove from Seattle to their shop near the Washington Border and they installed the speakers. They are pricey but you can tell the difference. Just my opinion.
No matter which rack you get I wouldn't leave it on the boat if you are near the street. Too many tweaked out scrap metal thieves around.
