No problem Sean........ It's a pretty common mistake by most new owners on the Centurions because of this setup.
The ports fo the intake on your pumps are located right above your exhaust ports on the transom. (the one with silver screen is this port) When the boat is idleing or moving it can create an air pcket back there in which the pump can't get primed to take in the water. So make sure your sitting still and engine is off. I'm on my third Centurion with these pumps and sometimes they fill while running and other times they don't....so just relied on the turning the motor off way to be sure to get an even fill every time. The pumps won't take much battery draw so don't worry about draining the battery. It's minimal at best.

If there is one thing that kills me about the Centurions it's this ballast intake sytem. Really wish they would put the ports out the bottom so I could fill while in motion. It would be nice to fill otw to my riding sopt as I have to idle there for about 10min and then sit there for 5 filling, but hey price you have to pay for my favorite wake
