I am on my second Supra. The first was a 1983 Rider (the blue one) and my boat now is a 1990 SunSport. I have added a tower I got from Pyramid Manufacturing on Ebay (I think this is diywake.com now). I have a semi auto ballast system with a 400lb sac on each side of the motor for a total of 800lbs but I am hoping to upgrade to about double that this year. I will try to post a picture with the tower and racks when I get home.

Nope, not a Maristar - this is a 91 Tri star. This was the last year before the Maristar came out. I like to think of it as a diamond in the rough, cause it, and its bigger brother the 22 footer, were the only open bow MC's in production pre 1992.

The wake is great and getting better. I am looking at getting it reproped this summer, but we run two 600# sacs on each side of the engine, and a 500# (almost full) in the walk way up front. Great wake. I love it, soft and rampy IMO (but I have not tried a lot of wakes yet).

I dont have any pics of it with the real weight
Here it is pre-three-sacs
This is just with a couple of people and a 500 in the back. 23 @ 75 ft.

not to bad its bigger then my comp i want to put a lot of wieght in it but it sits sooooo low in the water.chris how much did you pay for the sunsport?

Donald I hear ya about sitting low - or riddin' dirty as we call it - But there are really only me and my best friend that can drive the boat well with all the weight in it. on any rider pickup you have to be MORE than careful or you will put the bow straight through the waves. It took some getting used to but the wake was far better, and thats what its all about right?

$13,000 which at first I thougt was too high, but it has a 2003 motor w/ 470 hrs, new interior, and the paint job is about a yr. and a half old. FYI, check this one out. http://orlando.craigslist.org/boa/305457186.html

running 1500 pounds and the wake is amazing, i also got a 10 inch sub up front in a custom aspen wood box (looks like a peice of furniture) and i got blue neons hidden in the sides so at night the whole boat glows blue.

I bought my boat for 6 thousand. Put another fifteen hundred into a tower, board racks, fat sacs, and a cheap stereo. It puts out a decent wake, but we are always trying to improve upon it. Upload

I've got an '86 Malibu Sunsetter and I have had a blast with it and I have pretty much rebuilt and reconfig'd everything about it as time and money allowed. Several of my riding buddies are getting new boats this years, so I am going to let it go and be a mooch for a season or two. Here is a link to the boat in the classifieds http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/194954.html?1098988318

mine is an '84, no pics of the wake yet. I've only had it about 3 weeks and for 1 it had a prop on it that was the opposite pitch of what it should be, but thats another story. BUT, We also have a 96 Ski Nautique and the 84 has a bigger wake with 6 people than the 96 does with 2000lbs.

$6.5K before tower and racks. Bought it before I got into wakeboarding and would be fine for just skiing and hanging out. Wish I'd have known wakeboarding was in my future. Would've talked the wife into an old dd or v-drive instead.

Oh yeah, I mentioned tower and racks but forgot to add another 1700 after the motor crapped on me last year.
Atleast the motor's under warranty now though.

Clint, I love the 96 VLX. Any V-drive much less a VLX for 15k sounds like a great deal. There is a boat almost just like that on Dallas Craigslist right now for $15500. It needs a little interior work but other than that it looks like it is ready to go for wakeboarding. If I hadnt just bought a house I probably would jump on it but it just isnt in the cards right now. I just hope I can find another deal like that a year or so from now.

'89 Winner 17' with a 3.0. I bought it for $1K less than NADA. It's not the best, but it's paid for and in great shape. I've recently added a CD player, sub and better speakers. I've also waxed it up a bit to bring out the color and will likely be removing the cheesy graphic from the side. The wake is surprisingly good without being weighted yet.

I miss my old Prostar. A few sand buckets, a few friends and gas was 89 cents/gallon in the late nineties. Ahhh, life was so simple then.

Chris, I was looking at that boat a few years back when it was in Arkansas. The entire interior needs to be replaced and that boat also has a lot of pink on it, where mine is red/black/gray.

There is another 96 VLX on boattrader right now that looks fantastic for 17k, only needs a tower.

15k brand new.. not the best for wakeboarding, but it looks decent and my family has a ton of fun on it. It gets awesome gas milage too. but for 15k I could also afford my new KTM, Quads, Motorcycles for my kids and plenty of trips to awesome lakes all summer long

BTW, I think the only way someone will get more boat for the money is if they inherit one.

Not the best pics of the wake - 500lbs on either side of the motor and 750 behind it. About 200lbs. of gear in the nose. We had to let some weight out - it would pop out of the hole fine, but the wake was turning into a curb. That rider was riding slow, probably 20mph. I usually ride @ 22/23mph.

That was the first time out with the new ballast arrangement, and the pic is taken from the swim platform which gives it a little different perspective. I'll get some better ones in a couple weeks... as well as of the boat in the water. The wake on this thing is a monster...

'wetsanded the hell out of it' is correct... and my shoulder hurt for days!

Here's my 96 VLX. Paid $18k for it back in '01. Got a little more than that in it now, what with the tower, PP, ballast, other little goodies, and it's getting all new vinyl right now. I wouldn't trade it for anything on the market right now, especially considering it's been paid off for years.
