I finally got the chance to try out the new 2010 Hyperlite Murray! What a rippin' board! Shaun Murray and Greg Nelson outdid themselves this year with the new shape. The Subtle 3-stage rocker definitely allowed me to pop effortlessly off the wake and the landings (even though I was in rough water) were extremely smooth. I'm a slow drifting edger and wait to turn it on until the last second...this board allowed me to do that smoothly and with minimal effort.
I liked it so much I went home and ordered one right away! I can't wait for it to get here!
Has anyone else tried the Murray this year?
Happy Shredding!
L

I demoed the 142 over the weekend. I felt the same way and I hated the 2009 shape. I ride a Lyman now and felt the Murray had a little more straight up pop and was a touch smoother up the wake with a quicker release ( i ride the lyman with all 8 fins). Anyway, I got home and ordered one too Can't wait to get back on Hyperlite.

Okay this may be dumb question but remember I am a noob so cut me some slack, but are you talking about the Murray Nova or the Murray Bio?

Jeff there both the same shape and both great boards just the nove has a lighter foam core and is a little stiffer because of the strata track system. I know a few people who ride them and they all really like it they say its the best murry shape ever hope that helps

I rode the Nova core but I hear they ride pretty much the same. The Nova is just a few lbs lighter.

That's good to hear Linz! I really want to go try it out because I am in serious need of a new board. I am still riding my old Belmont from '01. It still works and everything, but it definitely has lost a lot of pop. i also want to try out a Lyman, Watson, and a Company and Slingshot because I'm also a big snowboarder so the whole flex aspect is intriguing to me.

L,

Glad to hear you dig the shape, I know Mr. Murray is pumped on it and I am as well, have a great summer and enjoy the new ride!

My son rode one last weekend and was completely sold out on it. Loved the pop and the edge. He's on a tribute right now. If he ends up with one I might get to try one too. Nice job Greg.
