I think some on this post are thinking of a stripper pole on a boat as a floating strip club with nudity everywhere and dollar bills floating in the water! Theres no one actually stripping! Its like a small two piece bikini it makes some woman feel sexy! No matter what "accessories" a boat has on it if people are drunk and don't operate there boat safely and with respect to other boaters then they should be taken off the lake! I think they should take people off the lake for blocking the dock all day long loading their BBQ and 27 ice chests and then having a dead battery that they have to flag me down to get a jump for!! But sadly we dont, we pull up close to their boat and pull out the jumper cables (that are extra long that we have in our boat incase we run our batteries down from playing the stereo all day long). Give them a jump and send them on the way none the wiser that they have used up an hour of my time between waiting and helping!

The biggest factor that I believe always comes in to play is the fact that not all of these boaters are frequent boaters. I have this arguement all the time with my one buddy cause I call out the idiots on the water. They are probably only doing 10-20 hrs a year compared to all of our 50 hrs and up. A lot of "those" people IMO are on their 2 weeks holiday for the summer and it's the only time the boat really gets used so they have no real clue about power turning, tubing a butter day, jet skiing 20' behind my rider, and so on. They are there for a good time and that's all. Boat launch times can help prove this. Anybody that takes more then 3 minutes to put a boat in or out of the water will be guilty of this in some way or another because it's not something that should take long if you are an avid boater. Again, I think it's just an overall lack of experience on the water. Atleast around where I live anyway.
I wish that were the case on my lake. Since my lake is semi private, fairly small, and around $1000 a year for a pass most of them have boat often and have been doing so for years. Most boaters are ignorant of the problems power turns cause, or the fact that tubing int he middle is better for everyone.

They ought to have a licensing process for boating. It's far harder than driving a car and can be more dangerous.

Buy a jumper pack, it will save you a ton of time

You have to be a drunken idiot to have a pole on your boat? I just dont get that comment. I also dont understand why everyone is so worried about the image of our sport. Just because some people like to party on their boat and some people like to ride, does not make anyone wrong. I have been going to Potluck On The Beach since 1994 which is a Yacht party and have seen alot of garbadge out there. But does it make yachters bad people? My answer is no! All sports have negatives, but I dont think that partying on your boat is bringing the sport a bad name. It is the guys that some of these kids look up to in the wake world some of the pro's you could say, that bring a crappy image to the sport. Just like Kobe Bryant, Tiger Woods, Barry Bonds, ect. Its the people that are in the spotlight that we need to be focused on bringing a bad image to any sport. I have a boat to either ride, party, or just go out with the family to have a chill day on the water, and if someone is bothering me I can just start my boat up and go somewhere else. Dont let anyone ruin your day out!!

LOL Thanks Chris but some of these boats that we give jumps to, I dont think the jumper box would help!! There brand new battery is only five years old and they have only taken the boat out once since then LMAO!!

To restate my stance, i'm not against the stripper poles, but I started to see a tone of" we can do what we want to" in this thread, and that's what i have a problem with. It's the classic problem i see with boating in general. I don't care about the image of the sport and more than i cared about the image of snowboarding when it started. It's not just wakeboats that act like asses, it's all types of boats.
Also the perceptiont of drunken idiots having poles is a product of the people posting pictures of drunken idiots surrounding the poles with ice luges and passed out on swim platforms. Do I think all the owners of boats with poles get hammered and drive the boat no, does the evidence in this thread point to the fact that most do, yes.

I don't mind the partying I think there is a time and place for it. like chris said there is a cove at are home lake that most people know is the party cove (and if you don't you find out real soon)so if you wanna go party then that is were you go. It is fun just to go into this cove just to watch all the drunk idiots. But what does bother me is I am starting to see a lot younger crowd in these coves with these high dollor boats they don't have any respect for other people. I can't count how many times I've seen 10 or more boats tied up with one anchor out and they just drift around the cove running into other people. And I hate to say it but most of the boats that do this are wakeboard boats. It is also scary to know that when you are out trying to get a evening set in and you watch all these boat come steaming out of this cove knowing that most of them should not be driving a boat and having to worry if they see you or the rider that you are pulling.

Are you looking at the same thread as me because the pics of girls on the poles dancing look like the most well behaved people on many of the pics I have seen on wakeworld. Even the pics of the coves with the people drinking like crazy look like they are more well behaved then most county fairs! Don't get me wrong if you are driving the boat i don't think you should drink! I think the driver of the boat should police the drinking on his or her boat! But after those steps are taken have a good time and don't hurt others!!

Not sure about you guys, but I always thought girls used these poles for exercise. Is that wrong? Just found this link on our local fox news channel. http://www.divadenstudio.com/

It's so funny to hear all the whining on this subject. I'm about twice the age of 1/2 you guys. I live live in an ultra-conservative red state in a conservative Republican town full of breeders. In that company I'm sure that stripper poles are a big no no!

But do I hang out in that crowd?? He11 no! A couple weeks ago I went to a birthday party at Northern Quest Casino. The gal was turning 40 yrs old. And one of the gifts was.... you guessed it.... a stripper pole! After the casino party, the after party was at their place, where they promptly set that pole up! Now this gal may be 40, but she's a fitness trainer & built better than most 20 yr olds. And she has no shortage of cougar friends who still look great & love to act all sexy & dance for their men & men friends. The party was a hit... and that stripper pole was a big part of it. No one lost any respect. And they all went home to their holier than thou, know-it-all kids who didn't know their mom had it in 'em to be sexy (and probably didn't want to know).

Seeing what Robert did with his "dancer pole" I may end up puttin one on my own boat! And it'll go great with the disco ball & lasers we already have!

To each their own. Live long & prosper. Takes all kinds to fill the freeways. Live hard, die young & leave a good lookin corpse.

Chris,

Really man, so you need to make it personal my calling me an idiot, eh? You need to get the corn cob out of your heinie. No one here is condoning drinking and driving. You do know it's not illegal to drink on a boat right? You know you can listen to music, have a huge block of ice on your boat, and watch a wakeboard tournament and it's completely legal.

I don't drink and drive a car or a boat. I don't endanger anyone. No one said that they do or condone it. You are making assumptions and casting stones my friend.

Oh, and the picture of me sleeping on my swim platform was at a camp ground after a night out in Nashville. Didn't even boat that day, and didn't drive either. Somehow a bunch of us went out, did some drinking, took a taxi and, guess what???? No one got hurt, offended or arrested.

You don't own every lake, and if you rent some space on a piece of water that has some crazy rules on it about having to frown while you're on the lake so be it, but don't project that attitude on others because you're the exception my friend.

What's hilarious is that you're the only one name calling here bud, and you're preaching morals. I guess people were having too good of a time on this thread and you got upset.

You're the one posting the pictures and adding the captions. If you don't like it don't post it. Just calling it like I see it.

I'm not trying to start a fight with you, but it's pics and acts like that cause the lakes to become dry, ruining it for the rest of us that just want to have a few beers out on the lake. It's why BUI levels are absurdly low, and it's why the rangers chase down wake boats all the time. Does it iritate me that the rules have to be overly harsh due to a few who don't see the big picture, yes.

I mean, can you believe all of the idiots on the water that have stereos on their boats??? I mean someone could, gasp, play music while driving with their eyes closed! I saw some idiot with his eyes closed in one of those crazy color photos so that has to mean if you have a stereo on your boat you're going to play it too loud and drive your boat with your eyes closed!! What the heck golly g willikers! I mean how are we going to survive??? I bet ten times a day there are kids playing hop scotch on the gold plated street of my gated community who are run down by boat drivers playing music and driving with their eyes closed. The other day I took a bath and a closed eyed music listening to pimple faces feeble bopper crashed into my toilet!

WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO!!!! You damn kids with your crazy fm radios and knee length swim trunks! Think about the children! Heck, I may pop an old record on the victrola one in a blue moon - only after polishing up my knowledge of the restrictions on my private exclusive $1000 per day pond and taking two timed tournament passes - but I can assure you I keep my eyes open and handcuff myself to my bedpost so I physically cannot reach my boats. If you don't do the same than you're endangering all of us! You think you can just do what you want all the time!?!

You, my friend, are hilarious.

I'm sorry if you can't take others opinions. Look if you don't like it, then don't post them. I have no problem with partying or stripper poles, I'm just tired of hearing to each their own and that people should steer away from parts of the lake if they don't like it.

What makes you assume that "sometimes I party so hard" equates to "I drove my boat drunk"?

You have a warped sense of reality if you think you can fling insults around and not have other people take issue with you. Again, I didn't have a problem with your paranoid and condescending rhetoric until you made it personal.

Get over yourself. you post a picture that looks like you're passed out on a swim platform with a statement about how you sometimes party too hard, then cry when someone makes a comment about it. What did you mean by that statement, that you resting before you partied the next day on the lake?? Come on I'm sure your fragile little ego got bruised by being called an idiot, but I think you're a big enough boy to get past it.

You painted the picture then got hurt when it didn't go the way you wanted.

Next time I post a pic of me on the lake and caption it, wow, had a great day riding, I hope you infer that I threw down a toeside backside 1080, landed on a unicorn, flew to your mom's house, had her do my laundry, and then won the lottery.

Wow, was that the first time anyone called you an idiot? You're panties are in one tight little bunch over it.

I'm sorry you don't like my opinion and you think I'm unbalanced. Obviously you are very stable due to how little the comment affected you.....

I obviously don't know you any further than the few comments and pics you have posted here, and probably shouldn't have called you an idiot. To be honest I wasn't directing them directly at you, but more the picture being painted. I see nothing wrong with partying, I just see the trends being set due to the increased amount of partying on the lake by the rangers. I enjoy partying on the lake, but I prefer to do it in a way that doesn't attract negative attention to myself where I can be used as an example for why the lakes need to go dry, or why the rangers are pulling over boats and giving road sides at the first sight of beer. I'm sorry if it offended you.

I really think this got a little out of hand, we all ,love having a good time on the water and sometimes the posts here can get a little out of context. I'm sure we'd get a long fine if we met. Hahaha... I love when people get all fired up about stuff that has no effect on them.... PRICELESS! Sometimes I wanna leave the pole at home because its kind of a pita to put up and down with a lot of people in the boat. But ALL of the girls say to bring it. It would be interesting to see an age and marital status along with the "you're a drunkin fool for having a pole on your boat" comments.

For all the ladies

Hahaha. Actually for anyone who thinks that the pole is just meant to defame a woman's character....... the pole is actually quite challenging, and also a lot of fun for everyone. I'll go ahead and be the first guy on here to publicly admit to playing around on it. Its not as easy as you would think.

Wow, I didn't think I would be begging for someone to stop posting stripper pole pics!

Actually I'm sure I couldn't do it, so maybe that's why I'm so fascinated with watching the young ladies...ahem...supporting themselves...with said poles...

Robert - you should charge a one time fee for the pics.

Sounds like a little money making opportunity

Now, we need someone trustworthy we can PM our pics to, and have them re-distribute the master list to everyone.

I'd volunteer, but I'm leaving for tahoe for a week of snowboarding / skiing.

Anyone...

Those guys must have no nuts or something, that would kill the twins down there the way the swing and jump on that pole.

I'm curious. Where did you'll get the piles that mount over ski pole. I've been looking but can't find one.

As for myself I remove the ski pylon and slip the pole in its place. i made an aluminum adapter to offset the difference.

Very true Murph. Guess they needed to mount a pole to the inflatable island

Lol. I wonder how long it takes to sit there with no takers until they start feeling like tools?
Old     (murphy_smith)      Join Date: Dec 2005       03-02-2011, 1:01 PM Reply
i bet they are still sitting there.

the best thing you can bring on the boat to attract girls is ? ----------------------------------------------------------------Your own girls!! Takes em to get em.

I'm no expert by any means.

But when it comes to fishing - you can' t beat live bait
Old     (psudy)      Join Date: Dec 2003       03-02-2011, 1:15 PM Reply
Is it better to have inferior bait, so the preditory fish feel more confident swimming up to them?

No word of lie, I thought this was Photoshopped.
A couple of years ago. someone made some phototshop parody thing with lights and tv, basically exactly like this - all hanging off a Ski Nautique describing it is as the end as we know it.

I guess we're there.

If I saw someone with TVs mounted up like that parked close to me, it would be a cannonball festival.

am i the only one that finds humor in this pic? there is a big muscle man lookin mofo who looks like he never leaves the gym in his typical scarab boat staring and wondering why the chicks are with someone else and he's all alone?

Maybe that's his girlfriend and sister on that boat...... How would you really know?

Tro i'm LoL at the way your stereotype'd the dude. He was actually a really cool dude and had a good looking girl with him all weekend.
Old     (tro)      Join Date: May 2009       04-04-2011, 7:55 PM Reply
ha ha. it's just that... a stereotype. he looks just like one of my good buddies who has a boat just like that and he's at the gym 24/7. i laugh at him constantly about his need for a large boat and fake tan.

nothing personal against the guy in the pic, it's just a funny scene. i'm sure he has more hot chicks than me.

I have been pestered by a few girls to put one on mine but went into shock at the cost of 3" aluminum pipe.
