hey all,

My sister brought to my attention an ordeal she's facing and I though I'd get your opinions.

Upon searching her name in Google, a site called wasarrested.com hits on the first page.
The headline, right on Google, reads:

Nov 5, 2009 ... Ann Arbor – (Her first and last name) was voted to be the “Sex Female Of The Year” according to world Sexual Balistics Rating system in Ann Arbor.

Obviously this isn't the kind of exposure someone applying for jobs and graduate programs wants to have.

If you go to the site, it is meant to be a hoax news story sort of deal. Anyone can put any name on it, and it generates all these crazy, sometimes crude, stories. The catch is, in order to remove your name from the site they make you pay a fee of 35 dollars or something ridiculous.

What do you think? I don't know what advice to give her on how to approach this. Obviously it is absurd to have to pay a fee to remove your name when you don't even know who or how it got up there in the first place.

Thanks for your help!
