Looking to purchase first wakeboard boat! Beginner at both wakeboarding and surfing.

06 Supra 21V - 100-200 hrs
07 Mobius LSV - New

No difference in price. Which one to go with?

are all the options the same for the most part too? If so I am always a fan of new, but it really comes down to which one you like better... they are very comparable boats
good luck...
drive them both and see which one is catching you. either boat have the dealer upgrade the prop to the wakeboard prop

new has a nice warranty, and IMO the 07's look way better than the 06's.

It would depend on the condition of the used boat. I really like the new LSV, but prefer the wake, styling, and ammenities that come with the 21V.

You would want to make sure that you are comparing apples to apples as far as options are concerned as well. Supra's come standard with many of the items which are options on Moomba's.

The biggest differences are the 340 engine and the tandem axle trailer. I will not be towing boat much!

I really like my 07 LSV, but I would like to have the playpen bow to hide a bigger front sac. Both of those boats need plenty of weight in the front, so the 21V might be the way to go. The LSV is great for the money though, and I love mine.

Which one has the 340 engine? This will probably help with resale value, but its not really needed if you have the wakeboard prop. We also really like the playpen seating in the 21V. (My girlfriend didnt want me to get the 21V because of the seating, but not she loves it)

There are a couple of 21V i am looking at. One has the 325 and the other has the 340. The 325 has about 65 hrs and the 340 has 170hrs. The 170hrs seems like alot for a 2006.

our LSV has an amazing wake. two 400lb sacs in the Vdrive lockers, and a 400lb sac in the ski locker and a few people in the boat make the wake plenty big.

I'd say go with the new '07 LSV because the internet can be deceiving, and you might not like the condition of the 21V when you see it

i like the interior layout of the 21v better but i like the wake a lot more on the LSV, it would be a tough choice for me for sure!

I'd go for the new one, a warranty comes in very handy doesn't matter what brand you buy.

Used boat comes with extended warranty.

That settles that then, you have a tough choice to make. The supra will be a little nicer than the moomba, plus you will take less of a hit on the used boat when selling it IMO.

I would go with the 21V. I'm a little biased as I have 06 21V, and the wake is f'ing big and beautiful! I have the 340 and the wake prop and with the 2800lbs that we roll with, it gets out of the whole extremely well. My buddy who has a new VLX is always amazed at how well it gets out of the water.
140 hours isn't that bad, I have 132 on mine and it runs like a champ, plus you said that it comes with an extended warranty so if anything does happen to it your covered.

I would go with the 21V for sure!! Good luck!!

You have a tough choice! Everyone so far is right. Better dress package on the Supra but IMO better wake on the LSV. You can always dress the LSV to suit. For me it's all about the wake. Side note. I have the playpen on my XLV and I thought I would like it better but it makes for less room. Feet used to go in the cut out on my 05 LSV and now they have to go everywhere else on my XLV. Not sure if I would get a playpen again unless it was a option like a bow filler cusion which is avail on the LSV!

That is a concern I have with the playpen seating! Also, the wife does not care for it much.

Thanks for the input!

see i have an xlv and i love the playpen! thats the one thing i don't like on the lsv is the walkthrough

the playpen makes it easy to get cozy with a couple ladies :-)

Another benefit of the playpen seating is the standard 800 lb sac that fits hidden under everything (which can be upgraded to 1100 lbs.
Old     (tmobe)      Join Date: Mar 2007       07-23-2007, 1:22 PM Reply
The ladies do love the playpen. And I love them there. It is well worth it in the XLV since I have the 1150 pounder. I can say that my 05 LSV was a 10 person and I always had up to 15 and was still cozy. The 06-08 LSV is a 13 seater so who knows. My XLV is a 16 but feels kinda cramped with 13. Go figure. lol

everyone i know loves the xlv layout more than any other boat and i do as well, the interior space i think is great! ive had 3 people sleep on the boat and be comfortable, not many boats will sleep 3 on the seats :-)
Old     (bbr)      Join Date: Apr 2002       07-23-2007, 2:15 PM Reply
The playpen is sick IMO. the walkway have seatbacks for people in the bow or the cabin. Plus you can lift the bow seatback and keep your goodies nice and dry, especially in the winter.

I don't think you should be real concerned with how many people you can fit in the boat. Unless that is, you always have 12-15 people in the boat, in which case isn't fun anyway.

Most of the time it would be 8-10 with 4 being 10 yrs old or less!
Old     (tmobe)      Join Date: Mar 2007       07-23-2007, 2:31 PM Reply
BBR, does the paypen in the 21V have that walkway seatback? I know the LSV doesnt but my XLV does.
Old     (wakesetter101)      Join Date: Oct 2005       07-23-2007, 2:33 PM Reply
I am not a big fan of the play pen seating. Neither is the lady. I perfer the full open walk through. I can see how kids would like to play in it though.

Very though one. I dont know witch way i would go. Probably the new LSV.
Old     (bbr)      Join Date: Apr 2002       07-23-2007, 2:33 PM Reply
Yes is does, it has one facing both directions, for the bow people and the cabin.

Cool BBR. I didn't see it on my buds 06 21v. I use min all the time. I think I would still go with the LSV with the bow filler. Cant go wrong either way though.
Old     (tyler97217)      Join Date: Aug 2004       07-23-2007, 2:59 PM Reply
think about the future and if you want to add a lot of weight to the boat and have it all covered up and still maintain a ton of storage then the playpen is the way to go. you can tuck 1150 lbs under there with the flip of the switch and no one sees it. you still have all your bow cushions to store other stuff too.
if running that much weight is not important than go with the walk through if you like it....
i personally think the playpen is one of the best features and other companies should adopt it...

Yeah, it sucks to have to fill up the sacs in the walkway, a playpen would hide them perfectly. Plus in a playpen you add 1150 sac that is a single sac pre-plumbed. In my LSV, I cannot go bigger than the stock sac that is in the locker so I have to put another one or two in the walkway (effectively a playpen). In the LSV, if you plan to increase the stock ballast like I did, you will have to have them exposed in the walkway because you will NEED about a 50-50% split in the weight front to back. Too much out back and it gets so peaky it rolls over on it's self.

In mine, I put two 750's in the back locker and took the originals and stack them in the walkway for 1250 up front and 1500 out back. The wake is much bigger, but I will likely get a 1000lb triangle for the front and use one of the rears in the walkway, and the triangle on top of it up front. If you get the LSV new, get the wakeboard prop! I need to replace the stock one as it is a total pig with this much weight in it.

I am pretty sure the largest that fits in the LSV bow locker is 800lbs. So you can add one on the top locker in the walkway of any size you need. If you plan to put a good amount of weight you MUST change the prop. And I mean MUST! 14.25 X 14.50 OJ is the ONLY way to go. ASK anyone and they will tell you the same.

the lsv locker is tiny :-( it's like 400lb max

Yeah, there is NO WAY you will get 800lbs of water in there. Lead MAYBE... The stock ballast bag is as big as you can go in the stock locker.
