We ride upper Willamette River. But bad weather and cold water has slowed us down. But should be getting better this week. Into the 70's by this weekend.

Can you still ride the river in October and November down there? If so I am assuming it is drysuit temperatures.

I ride on the Wilamette in Salem. You can ride all year long but a dry suit is a must!!!

I potentially might be moving to Portland in the next few months, and was wondering if the Willamette is the only place to wakeboard on or if there are other lakes and rivers to ride on?

It seems like everyone on this thread has only talked about the Willamette...

bsflower - are u thinking of coming down to Portland to ride this fall?

Yep Mary - I will be down there working and last spring when I was working down there working I met two crews that were kind enough to take me out, so I was thinking I might be able to sweet talk a ride out of one of them again and/or meet some new people. My schedule isn't set yet, but I am suspecting to have to go down that way middle to end of October.

bsflower - how long will you be in Portland for? If I take this job offer I will be moving in November/December. When you were down there did you wakesurf or wakeboard?

Sorry to hijack this thread Glenn -

Mary - don't know, probably not long though, just doing a quick assessment of where the client is now in regards to where they were last spring. When I was there I wakeboarded. Did you get to surf at NWWF? I don't think you saw us, I jumped in the boat with an old friend I hadn't seen in four years and was using his boat for the quick session that I had time for. Mary if you want to chat more IM or email me. tcluv85@hotmail.com

Hijack over..

We rode yesterday on Lake Oswego. The water was butter and quite a bit warmer than the Willamette. This time of year it becomes a little more difficult to find people to ride with.

Glenn, I'm very close to your area and always looking to ride. Get ahold of me in the spring time if you need a third, I'm good for gas money plus some.

Buzz,
Yeah it is a private lake, which is kind of cool because no jetskis are allowed. But they are pretty anal on the lake too.
