Hey you guys, I really need some help. I've got a 20' Bayliner with a tower and a 4.3 Mercruiser I/O with about 200 hp. I need some input from others who have a similiar setup in terms of weighting their boat for maximum wake but still keeping it driveable? We've played around with the trim, and we can get a really decent wake with it, but it's next to impossible to keep on plane. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Most likely you'll need to position about 500lbs somewhere toward the center of the boat, maybe a hair toward the front to allow the boat to get on plane easier. You might try to put it in the ski locker or in the walkway to the bow. Then you could have some friends move around the boat to see how and where to position more weight - if the boat can handle it.

Thanks David. It's a cuddy cabin, but I've taken out the head, so maybe I should put a sack in there. Thanks for your help. Really appreciate it.

I have a similar setup. I put a 700# sac right above the ski-locker and about 250# in front of the motor. I also put a S.E. 300 stabilizer fin on the motor to help it plane quicker. It did the trick but I lost about 5 mph on the top end.
