This is to good not to share.Any of you that have docking lights or halogen tower lights know how much power they draw. When I would turn mine on my volt gauge would drop to 10 volts and my perfect pass would go crazy which I believe is the norm for boats with halogen lights.I did a bunch of research and decided to try and convert my docking lights to LED'S .I found some MR 16 replacement bulbs on E Bay and placed my order. The bulbs have three 3 watt LED's and for the price I figured if they don't work no big deal.Bulbs arrived and to my surprise were a plug and play conversion. The light output is equal to or greater than the fifty watt halogen bulbs that I had before.I went with the cool white which puts out an advertised 560 lumen and is a much whiter light than the halogens. This is probably one of the cheapest best bang for the buck mods I have done and install was 10 minutes or less. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rotundity-9W...item231c81e14d

So your the guy driving around at night with your DOCKING lights on so that no other boat can see your navigation light to tell which way your going?

No not the guy driving with them on at night but I have been guilty of using them to pick up riders while doing a late night stealth session.

I can understand that. I was out the other night and half the boats on the water had them on like headlights running on plane.

Hey h20King, you mind posting a picture from a couple of feet back, so we can see the light output. I just did the same thing myself with a couple of LED bulbs from Lowes and they were terrible. They actually were dimmer than the halogens I had in it from the factory, so I took them back. These look great, so I would just like to see the light output from a little bit further away.

Our boat ramp only has 1 street lamp in it, so coming in at night and trying to see the dock is quite a task. We have used a spotlight before, but the dock is around a small group of trees, and it just puts out almost too much light. Thanks.
