So I have a 2002 tige 22v rider edition. Its awesome, fully loaded to the max with everything you could need..(yeh not want haha) on it and it has always run perfectly. I understand that the steering for most inboards is though, but mine is a BEAR! A grizzely bear..if you know what I mean NOT the little pussy black bears. Anyway does anyone have any solution to my problem? Its a cable steering set-up.
THanks

Yea mine used to be like that as well and we ended up replacing the whole cable. The new cable made the steering perfect, almost like there was nothing attached to the wheel at all.

I am not 100% sure but this is around 150 - 200 bucks so if you really want to fix it, thats the way to go.

Not $400-800 bucks. About $150-200. Super easy fix.

This happened with my buddy's Tige RZ2 and the guys who serviced it last must have tightened something too tight, something to do with the steering. In his case it was the rudder, just took it back up there and it was a quick fix.

Sounds like you just need a new steering cable. Approx. a 2-3 hour job depending on the boat.

Yep its a steering Cable, not to hard to fix on your own if you are slightly mechanically inclined. My only suggestion is do it on the water if you have access to a dock because once you get the new cable installed you will have to re-true up the streering wheel.

Ditto on steering cable. Just make sure that you route it above the gas tank. Check out http://www.tigeowners.com/forum/. There are various other boat owners with the same issues

Steering cable x3 and lube the rudder box a couple time a season.

What kind of water do you run in?
