I was curious how others are setting up their balast, wakeplate, speed to dial in their wakes?

I have the GG setup and normally run the front sack at 75% and the back sacks 100%. wake plate around middle and 19.5 MPH. We normally ride at 65-70 ft.

Speed up... We are running about 22mph, sometimes faster. What size sacks do you have in the back?

Supra for me - How's the new GG boat???
Old     (svguy)      Join Date: Jan 2004       03-09-2007, 11:52 AM Reply
We run with front bag mostly full, rear bags ~half full (I have custom 900lb bags in rear) and 23 mph (if it's not too choppy). Wakeplate can tune from very rampy to peaky with a lot of pop.

Thanks for the info! When I run it around 21 or higher it seems alot faster to me and the others that ride on my boat. Compared to the 21,22 ft boats out there especially. I may need to calibrate to make sure it is accurate on the speed. Anyone think it seems faster?

patrick.... don't ever trust your speedo until you have calibrated it. I have never seen a PP come in right until you have calibrated it... do yourself a favor and get a handheld GPS.

Robert Y is a super great guy I got to know pretty well in "selling" him on the Supra's. It started with me selling him a ski out of our proshop and giving him a lot of good technical help on his skiing and him on a new wakeboard. Unfortunately I couldn't get him the #'s he was wanting on a 24SSV, but I do thank you for hooking him up. Knowing Robert I'm sure he and I will spend a lot of time together surfing and riding some MX.

im pretty sure ive seen your ballast setup Patrick and it is the stock sacks not the gravity games upgrade..

IM betting if you upgrade your back sacks you will be much happier with the setup whn you go with less people or feel froggy and want to pump it up for yourself..

I ride Genes 24 all the time and he has the GG sacks and his wake is insane, big ,clean and can be sharpen to each riders prefeerence adjusting the plate up or down..

24V has a lot of potential for a big boat,i really dig the wake ..

Bill, I will check with Marty about my rear sacks. I thought it was the GG games package, but I could be wrong? MY boat has the GG decals on it. Thanks for the help everyone.
Old     (nauty)      Join Date: Feb 2004       03-12-2007, 2:57 PM Reply
Patrick - I may be wrong, but the GG package on a Supra does not come with the GG sacs. Skier's Choice will not sell the GG sacs as they will take the boat over the coast gaurds suggested limits. The GG sacs are sold purely after market by the dealer. The dealer typically won't trade them for your stock sacs either. You have to purchase them on your own. So, unless you have an extra set of stock sacs you probably don't have the GG sacs in your boat. Again, I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that I'm right.

I have the 22 SSV, so mine's a different animal, but when fully weighted (2200 lbs) I need to drive at least 22.5 to keep my wake clean. Any slower than that and it's washing out on the opposite side that the rider is edging away from.

Richard - you are correct. I have the 04 XLV GG and had to purchase the GG bags after market.

GG edition is really nothing more than stickers...

Thanks for the info, any ideas on the price for those GG sacks? It may be cheaper to just throw a couple extra sacks in the back along with what is in there. I am assuming I must have the 750 lbs sacks that come stock? What size are the GG sacks 1000 lbs each?
Old     (supra24ssv)      Join Date: Mar 2006       03-12-2007, 4:16 PM Reply
nope, the 350's are stock
750's are the upgrade

I have a 07 24SSV on order and the brochure says it comes with Gravity III-V Ballast with 3 Bags 1 front and two rear. So does anyone know what each bag can hold? I did not see the larger bags even listed as a option, not that I need them. Maybe they could come in handy for wakesurfing?
Old     (supra24ssv)      Join Date: Mar 2006       03-12-2007, 5:50 PM Reply
lka
front 1200
rears 375 each
total 1950 w/ gravity 3

switch to 750's in rear it is better all around and you can surf with 2 people

are you going to the reunion in fl or the pwt in atlanta

I am still working on that. Do you know if my local dealer can get me the 750's? Also do you know what the run for the set? Maybe I can get him to take the 375's on trade if he can get them or I might just have to go through Fly High.
Old     (supra24ssv)      Join Date: Mar 2006       03-12-2007, 6:11 PM Reply
i bought mine with the hardware for 300-350, if they won't trade don't worry use one as a extra for surfing, fly high knows exactly what you will need
Old     (nauty)      Join Date: Feb 2004       03-12-2007, 6:28 PM Reply
LKA, the GG bags are not an option from Supra. Each indvidual dealer decides if they want to carry them. I believe the dealers get them directly from Fly High, not through Skier's Choice? You can purchase them directly from Fly High if your dealer doesn't carry them.

They are around $800 for the set of 3, probably somewhere around $350-$400 for just the pair of rear sacs if I remember correctly.

Yea Richard I notice depending on how my boat is weighted that it starts to wash bad under 20mph.

BTW the Front sac is not 1200 really. It never really fully fills right without lifting the front cushions. The actual weight is just under it's rating. About 1140lbs and the stock rear bags are 350lbs.
