We know that there is nothing in the Constitution that gives the rights and protections of U.S. citizens to enemy combatants



We know that bowing to foreign heads of state while apologizing for American exceptionalism and benevolence will only invite derision



We know that not directly confronting terrorism and rogue regimes will only result in the proliferation of terrorism and rogue regimes



We know that the massive deficit and debt created by the current administration can in no way be attributed to the previous one



We know that saying its Bush's fault is just as stupid as saying that Bush made me do it



We know that enabling the left's calling of conservatives Nazis, dangerous right wing extremists, terrorists, racists, teabaggers, and other derisive labels will only grow the Tea Party movement and galvanize opposition to the administration and Democrat party



We know the Tea Party's main goal is to bring government back to Constitutional principles and is not threatening to overthrow government



We know that excessive government intrusion into and the demonizing of insurance companies, banks, private business, the free market and profits will strangle and paralyze the economy



We know that providing tax cuts, incentives to hire and the framework for success will grow the economy and lower the unemployment rate.



We know that growing government at the expense of the private sector will only create a house of cards that will collapse



We know that encouraging the non-productive members of society to demand more of the productive members of society is no way to create economic growth and national unity



We know that redistributing wealth will cease wealth to exist anywhere but in the hands of government



We know that government takeover of banks, insurance companies, car companies, and health care is socialism and not a government helping hand to encourage a better free market



We know that saying the stimulus saved or created 2 million jobs while 4 million were lost somehow doesn't add up



We know that appointing tax cheats, pro-pedophiles, marxists, communists and socialists into government positions is not a good way to garner support from the American people



We know that giving amnesty to 12-20 million illegal aliens won't solve the illegal immigration problem but will only make it worse



We know that mandating E-Verify nationwide and enforcing currently existing immigration laws will go a long way to solving the problem of illegal immigration



We know that putting the health care system into the hands of government bureaucrats while massively adding people and coverages will result in skyrocketing costs, increased taxation, rationing, denial of services, inefficiencies and the denigration of the best health care system in the world



We know that pushing legislation that is vastly unpopular will not increase its popularity



We know that lecturing the people instead of listening to the people will not improve falling approval numbers



We know that opposition to his policies is not racist they're just opposition to his policies...period.

I am not wasting my time. This thread is not about Bush as much as you would like the focus to be shifted.

Actually Paul anyone who's honest will note that (ironically enough) just as many things in that list apply to Bush as they do to Obama. Bush is about as big government and pro-spend as one can get on the red side of the game.

Why do so many people think that Bush being awful and Obama (so far) being a fail are mutually exclusive ideas?

Anyway, the list is a joke considering the recent history of conservatives in power.

Just about every bullet on Paul's list can be applied to both sides of the aisle. Especially, the only alternative we had to Obama, which was McCain. I took my chances and went with Obama, and venture to say that like would be just about the same with McCain and Palmin in office.

Paul, I am hypothesizing that you side with the Tea Party. And if the Tea Parties are a way for the conservatives to air their concerns, and "Republicans are the uneducated morons that would vote Palin", why was she the keynote speaker at the TeaParty convention in Nashville? Seems confusing.

Most people would interpret the word "pretty" as it had some good points. If I had used a word like, "spot on," or "great" then it would probably be safe for you to assume I agreed with all of it.

Lack of oversight was exactly my point. The biggest offenses, i.e. bailing out AIG and Goldman were already done before Obama took office. People focusing on Obama hate is even more misguided than hating on Bush. At least there is one single huge mistake that can be directly traced to Bush. That being the Iraq war.

A major failing in recognizing America's problems is the our inability to see that the trade deficit is a huge gaping wound bleeding the lifeblood of our economy. To the tune of $40B a month. That's money that cannot be put to use doing anything.

At least when the govt goes into debt spending on domestic projects the money continues to circulates in the economy generating tax revenue each time it changes hands. I laugh when I see people lamenting that our money is no longer based on the gold standard. If it was we would have already exported a significant amount of our gold to China.

We'll keep digging ourselves a deeper hole and eventually give the majority of our paycheck to a sh***y healthcare system. And one day the only jobs left will be in heathcare and govt. It's not Obama's fault. It's the fault of the American people.

I thought Bush made a huge mistake by taking us into Iraq. I had no specific complaints against him wrt anything else. McCain was spouting rhetoric that suggested he would be no better with the military and foreign relations. Then he put the icing on the cake by hooking up with Palin. Not really much more to recall.

Stick to facts of what you are for and what you are against and debate the issues! No one, even Presidents, can be an expert in everything.
