Boat sale scam-anyone else?

Here's the latest e-mail I have received from a guy "interested" in my boat. Apparently he saw it on flipsell-it's got my e-mail address. Reeks of scam to me.

HELLO,
I HAVE JUST CONTACTED MY CLIENT WHO IS RESIDENT IN LONDON BUT IS ON A THREE WEEK VACATION IN GERMANY . IT IS QUITE INTERESTING THAT MY CLIENT HAS ACCEPTED MAKING PAYMENT FOR THE BOAT AFTER CONSIDERING THE INFORMATION YOU PROVIDED ABOUT THE PRESENT CONDITION AND PRICE OF THE BOAT.

AS HE EXPLAINED TODAY,HE HAS A CERTIFIED CASHIER'S CHEQUE OF $26000.00 DEPOSITED FOR THIS TRANSACTION,THIS IS AS A RESULT OF A LOAN GRANTED TO HIM FOR THE PURCHASE OF A 54000 KVA TRACTOR HE INTENDED USING IN HIS LOCAL FARM BUT HE LATER RESORTED TO BUYING THE BOAT SO THE CASHIER'S CHEQUE IS IN EXCESS OF $4,500 SINCE WE HAVE AGREED ON $21500.00 FOR THE COST OF THE BOAT.

HE ADVICED ME TO DISCUSS WITH YOU SO THAT HE CAN MAIL THE CASHIER'S CHEQUE TO YOU FOR THE PAYMENT OF THE BOAT BUT YOU HAVE TO REFUND THE EXCESS ($4,500)TO THE SHIPPER SO THAT HE CAN USE IT TO PAY OFF THE SHIPPING BILLS/CHARGES.
THEREFORE,I URGE YOU TO PROVIDE YOUR COMPLETE MAILING INFORMATION(which include your legal name and correspondence address), CONTACT PHONE NUMBER SO THAT HE CAN MAIL THE CASHIER'S CHEQUE TO YOU.
THANKS AS I WAIT TO RECIEVE YOUR CONSENT ON THIS TRANSACTION SOON.PLEASE,MAKE SURE THAT THE ADDRESS IS CORRECT TO AVOID FUNDS ENTERING THE WRONG HAND.

Looks like Stan James changed his name. Yes stay away from these. Definite scam....

i get those on everything i put up for sale. i just replied to one this morning with my standard reply:

That's awesome. I threatened to use our resources to track his IP address. I wondering if i'll ever hear from him again,

Scam, My buddy fell for it while selling his dirtbike. He freaked when he started telling me the story and I finished it for him. I would not have known about it if it wasn't for Wakeworld!

Yea I got the same e-mail. I just told them I was a federal agent and they left me alone. They actually sent me a check for $16,500. I brought it to bank of america and they said it was a fake. (Of Course)

Troll them.Ask for weird stuff from him,naked pics of his wife,and stuff like that.A guy on another site I go to did this,and played with these guys for about 2 weeks.He would post all the coraspondence(sp)and it was some of the funniest stuff I've ever read.

That Stan James tried to hustle me also when I was selling my Maxum. Same buyline and all.

I AM a state agent. Apparently my official e-mail scared him off. Haven't heard from him since. Kinda disappointed. Really wanted to sell my boat!

Not 2 hours after reading this post I received an email from the same ••••• about my mountain bike I'm selling on ebay. Good thing for WW so I knew exactly how to reply. "This sounds like a good deal. If you'll just email me naked pictures of your mom, wife, and daughters, I will get back to you shortly with a picture of my middle finger."
